Hi just thought we would share our experiance with you,

We read about PPI reclaims in the national press and phoned one company who advised us to contact the company direct, which we did. We called them on 28/10/11, to which they said they would send some paper work out, we recieved the paper work out on 02/11/11 and returned it 03/11/11. we heard nothing until today when we got a letter saying they had excepted the claim. The claim dates back to 2001-2003 the claim was for £449 and with an acceptance form to sign for £2903.31.

    VERY HAPPY

    Hi

  • Hi All

Although this is my first post, I've used the site and forum advice lots recently to help me with claiming back PPI that I was forced to have added to an HSBC graduate loan I took out several years ago. The first time I tried to claim a few years ago, they initially turned me down but I have recently tried again, filling in and sending off my questionnaire in Dec'11. I've just received an offer from HSBC of almost 10K! My acceptance is going straight in the post today. So pleased they've seen the light and even replied within a few weeks with a positive response. This will mean that I'm now totally debt free and even have money for my wedding next year, yay!!!

Keep up the good work - the info on this site has been invaluable x

Can anyone help answer my question, I tried to recliam money on a ppi from my mortgage with Santander, now when I received their letter they said I never had it the policy number was for criticall illness cover not ppi. Is the critical illness policy not covered under ppi or are they just fobbing me off?

    Thank you

    Hi,post your question here,
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=187
The guys on there are more "in the know" regarding this.
It is a form of protection insurance, but as it is with regards to a mortgage i am not sure about reclaiming this.
  • Over the past few years, I have had 3 loans from M&S Financial Services to help with home renovation, car purchase etc. I have been M&S Loan free for the past 18 months. After reading about PPI etc on this website I thought I'd write to M&S out of interest. I followed the procedure suggested on this website, ie writing to ask for my details first, then completed the basic questionnaire supplied. In my favour was a letter I had written to them in 2005 asking them to remove the PPI off my account as I hadn't requested it - I knew then they were sneaky devils!!! Anyway, how thrilled was I when M&S wrote back offering me £11,000!!! I couldn't believe it and spent the day grinning like a cheshire cat!!

    Hi All

Just wanted to add our success. give or take a few pounds

RBS MINT CC First letter sent June 2011 upheld Sept 2011 recieved Oct 2011 £2000

RBS Natwest CC First letter sent June upheld Sept 2011 recieved Oct 2011 £3000

MBNA CC First letter sent June 2011 rejected Aug 2011 Letter to FOS Sept 2011 upheld Dec 2011 awaiting £9800

RBS Natwest Loans First letter sent Nov 2011 upheld Dec 2011 awaiting £4000

    Total nearlly £20000

So our debt which we thought we'd probably pay for the rest of our lives has suddenly become a debt which is managable with a light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Thanks to all the the success stories we have read it made us think yes we can do this.

    Good luck to everyone

How long did it take from start to finish for M and S to get back to if you don't mind me asking?

 Hope I have posted in the right place

Have been unsuccessfull in a PPI claim for my Barclaycard , turned down as they advise I applied by post and must of understood the T & C , despite an initial meeting in branch where I was told PPI was conditional etc etc ,
Have sent a request for my original application and fully account breakdown , have received a letter today referring me to the consumer Credit Act Section 78 (3a) , they advise that they are not obliged to provide me with the documents / information including my statements as my account was closed in October last year .
Not happy to say the least , have been back onto Barclaycard and they have now agreed to send me a copy of my application but are still declining to send statements despite sending £10.00 cheque which they say has not been banked and has been destroyed .
I am going to try the FSO but do not hold out much hope , have paid hundreds of pounds for cover and have been a stay at home mum since 2008 , so useless if I had tried to claim .
Has anyone had any success with the FSO and Barclaycard as I have come across so many hurdles .
  • Hi
Another update. I have been very lucky this week, I posted earlier in the week as I had received 2 cheques and today have had my offer from Barclaycard. I send my 1st correspondence on 15th November and today have had an offer of £584 so had not taken long at all really. I think I seem to be having more joy because my claims are relatively small compared to some so it's not taking me too long to get my offers.

Good luck all hope those cheques keep arriving :j

Exactly the same situation with Barclaycard here. With the FOS now so we wait and see what happens. Could be a long wait though!

Get your complaint to the FOS, the more people who complain about Barclaycard the better.

PS. Send a Subject Access Request again, which is the £10 thing. They have to send the information they hold about you, if they don't, complain to the information comissioner. They are fobbing you off, don't let them grind you down.
