    Hi all

Not been on here for a few weeks but looks like there have been some good wins :-)

Co-op have till next Thursday to contact me about my settlement, I'm right in thinking they will leave till the last minute with it? I don't know whether to ring and find out whats happening as I still don't know what the settlement figure is however, I'm estimating it to be £4000+. The FOS have said that if I don't hear from them withing 4wks of the date of their letter that I should contact them again.

I'm debt free now, no more loans (yay) and I'm now £70 better off a month which is a relief, just waiting on Co-op to settle up.

    :-)

Well done. Really pleased for you Shellbell.:j

What were you reclaiming: Personal Loan PPI
Who was the provider: Clydesdale Bank
How much did you get back: £2,749.50 plus £103.68 interest and the remaining installments of my loan will reduce by £61 per month
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Just one letter!

In 2005 I took out a 5 year loan with the Clydesdale bank. At the time my credit rating wasn't very good, so the advisor said because of this she needed to automatically include PPI into my quote or I wouldn't be accepted. Once I had been accepted she said I could re-apply without the PPI, but there was no guarantee the loan would be accepted and that would void my previous acceptance.

After reading articles on this site I realised that although I knew I had PPI, I had never been provided with a breakdown of what I was paying and realised I had possibly been mis-sold the policy.

As I was never provided with a copy of my loan agreement that I know of, I wrote an initial letter to my bank stating this and requesting they provide me with a breakdown of my monthly PPI repayments.

They must have forwarded this to the complaints department as I was then sent out a questionnaire asking for the full details of my complaint. I filled this in and was told I would have a response in 4 weeks. After 4 weeks I received a letter to say they needed another 4 weeks and 2 weeks later I received a letter stating that my complaint had been upheld and they would cancel my PPI, refund what I had paid (plus interest) and remove PPI from my future loan repayments.

Ultimately, combining my refund with the amount I was still due to pay for PPI I have saved £3,660 and will now be able to clear my loan one year earlier than planned! :T

So if you are thinking you may have been mis-sold your PPI, please please please do something about it as one simple letter resulted in me being almost £4,000 better off!

    Happy reclaiming!:rotfl:

Wow, well done to you.......:T , Congratulations and thank you for posting your successful news. :T

    UPDATE:

Since my previous success with HSBC last week I have recieved confirmation today that they are upholding my complaint on the second loan, and thrown into the bargain a loan I had forgotten about and hadnt mentioned, so I will be recieving another £1189 courtesy of misold PPI.

I am frankly over the moon!
