on my halifax loans my offer 11000 why is the interest of 8% dated to the
12-12-2011.does this mean they have to pay my money before the date recieved offer 18-11-2011.could anyone please explain this and a big thankyou to martin lewis and all readers if it wasn,t for this website i would not have tried to claim back my ppi.:T:T:T
It means they have worked out the 8% interest to that date, which means that they hope to pay you your refund before 12/12/11, if they don't you are entitled to ask for the extra interest past this date.
No the date received offer doesn't really come in to it, they are paying 8% interest on each months premium since when it was taken from your account if it was for a loan ppi, if it's for a credit card they only pay you the 8% on any credit balances resulting from them removing the ppi premiums each month and any associated interest you were charged on it.
Hope this helps:DThanks to all the competition posters.0 -

Many congratulations leah5 :T 12/12/2011 is the date they have calculated the 8% interest up to, so in theory you should receive your redress by then, however lots of cases are not going to plan and people that have dates, including myself, are not receiving payment before the date given. So it's a case of hoping you do  The FOS have given guidelines for banks to deal with complaints but when it comes to paying out lots of banks are failing miserably. If you don't receive payment before that date they should add further interest on until it is paid, hang in there :cool:Successes

I sent a claim in to HSBC about 5 weeks ago for a PPI claim on a loan for a car that i had with them (i finished paying the laon off about 4 years ago).
I was getting fed up waiting so i emailed the CEO, and got a reply back saying would be sent to the department dealing with my claim.
5 days later (last Saturday) i got a letter in the post, saying thank you for contacting the CEO and having reviewed your complaint we can confirm a repay of £162 PPI!
The only problem was this was not the loan/PPI policy that i had complained about! - this was for a very old loan i had taken out years ago for only a £1000, that i paid off in less than a year!
So last saturday i emailed the CEO again saying what the hell is going off, this is not the loan/PPI policy i had even contacted you about. Again i got a email back saying it would be looked into.
Yesterday moning (saturday) got another letter in the post from HSBC saying sorry for the confusion we have now looked into the correct loan/PPI policy and have again upheld your complaint!!!
Another £2355 to follow!!!!!!
Could not believe it, its only taken 6 weeks and a few email to the CEO, the £162 was paid into my account last friday, so the £2355 should be in by next weekend!
£2517 in total! - very very happy!
Well done fudgerella08, great that you have managed to sort this so quick and that one has been paid already, lets hope the larger one is as quick, report back please when you receive it :TSuccesses

After several more calls a nice bloke emailed the payments team to find out where they were, read the email back to me to make sure i was happy with what he was sending. Awaiting response from this as he has promised to call me back as soon as he gets a reply. Im actually at the point now where if this fails, ill speak to debt collection agencies to reclaim my money. It will mean id lose my interest payments in fees maybe, but this money means so much to me and it will give my daughter an amazing xmas.
Here's hoping that it is forthcoming, not only for your daughter but for your own sanity  you're doing the only thing you can by keeping the pressure on, good luck and report back SOON with a good outcomeSuccesses

For anyone else who might be considering/wondering about claiming from Firstplus .... I did, and I won :j
Started my claim on 07/09/11 and have just had confirmation that it's being upheld.
Details are in my "Just started my Firstplus claim" thread.
Good luck to all.

Thank you Dizzy Di!
I don't want to mess this up and feel that not knowing the full details of my loan application I could do that.
I'm 99% sure I took this loan out online which I believe already means I am unable to claim.
Do you think it would be worth calling them asking for a copy of my original application?
All help gratefully received

Good day to you all, can someone help I had a letter from HSBC yesterday they are going to re-pay my mis-sold PPI for a Flexi Loan I had in back in 2000 to 2001. Problem it says on the letter that they do not hold statements going that far, I never had any statements, does this mean I will not get a payout if I cannot provide a statement for them. I they know when it was started and finished so surley they know how much is was for (i cannot remember how much it was for). So my letter came with no figures
can anyone help or advise please
Second question I had another letter from Sainsbury Bank (Bank of Scotland) come on the begining of Sept for PPI against my credit card I had with them sine 2001 to present date, I cancelled the PPI back in 2006. They accepted my claim for mis-selling i had to sign a form send it back to them they had this around 9th Sept. 2011. I still not ad any figures yet I have called them and they do not know when they will be sending payment to me. Can anyone shed any light one how credit card PPI refunds work. I have £5100 limit which it has been maxed out almost all the time.
Finally any congrats to all winnersand thanks to MAtin and his team for making us all aware of this situation.
I have been speaking with HSBC a bristol number they continue to uphold the complaint but as this loan was from 2000 August until 2001 June they do not have any records, I have not statements, they say with flexi loan they do not know when its was drawn down however they know the loand amount £1200.00, they said I have to send it to FSO forms receieved this weekend. Looks like a long drawn out match even though HSBC found in my favour, its a shame not all banks to good will payment.0 -

Second note still waiting for BOS cc Iv been waiting since begining of sept for my money.
I also only got 4 weeks to waiting for mortgage protection with HSBC from 2005, which i forgot to cancel until march 2008 fingers crossed with that as I know i would not have had my mortgage without this as they said I could not.0 -

Rejected initially by MBNA
Referred by me to Ombudsman using the templates on this site
letter from Ombudsman saying MBNA writing to me with offer for gesture of goodwill
letter received yesterday offering me full refund of premiums, interest accrued due to increased card balance because of PPi and 8% interest
TOTAL £6704.
Delighted and so unbelievably grateful to you all on this website for your amazing work.
Second claim in hand against Santander but less hopeful as when card taken out the compay were not covered by the financial regulations so pursuing the underwriters (well the Ombudsman is)

Received identical letter from ombudsman on Friday- just waiting for MBNA's offer - I'm confused over the interest though - how is it worked out?
I thought you only got interest if the refunded premiums took the CC balance into credit?0 -

A case study of a PPI sale connected to a credit card, if you scroll to page 11 (last page) "Fair Compensation" it backs up your argument, although every case is differentSuccesses
