A capital 1 failure I'm afraid and all my own fault:( absolutely convinced that I did application over the phone and felt pressure to go for ppi.
Anyway they've written today ( final decision) to say that they're not upholding as I applied online and clearly chose ppi.
    I suppose that's it now then? :(

    Hi Lisa

No thats not it, you must keep strong and do not back down, its they they want you to do.

Do you mind posting up what they said on their letter and the reasons you gave them, we can try working something out, in case anything is missed by them, but please do not stop with this, final decision or not - they can sometimes change a decision if you go back to them with more information.;)

Today 'out of the blue' i received a letter from NRAM saying it had recently
reviewed its sales processes for PPI and basically saying that i was sold a PPI policy during Jan 05 - March 08 and if i thought it wasn't sold appropriately i should call them or fill in the form at the end of the letter. They are saying that depending on circumstances i could be entitled to a refund of the premium and an interest payment of 8%.
The problem that i have, is that i don't remember which loan this was for or when it was!!
Can anyone help by giving me advice on where to start?
    Many thanks.

    Hi there

Some banks/businesses have been sending these letters out to customers if they had had loans taken out with them and there is a list of companies that were fined from the stated date you posted for mis selling PPI.

So its likely you may have been mis sold, so check the below info below for more details and complete the form they given you, keep a completed copy for yourself as well, good luck.

    HI

Is anyone having lenghty waits for their settlement payment. I recieved my letter on the 12th October saying I was due £481, I have phoned them for some timscales as to when this will be paid andthey just say there is a back log and it will be as soon as possible. Am I being slightly cynical as why this is taking so long, afterall if I owed the bank £481 I am almost a 100% certain that if i said i would pay it back as soon as possible this would somehow not be accceptable

    Hi there
    Well done!:T

Yes there are backlogs unfortunately, but keep in touch with them.

May I ask what bank/business this is please?
    Cheers.

Lisa I agree with Di, please don't give in now, the banks will do and say anything to weaken your resolve, if they can put you off at the first hurdle they will, post up some finer detail, as Di says and we can try to find a different tack ;)

  • Hi

I sent a claim in to HSBC about 5 weeks ago for a PPI claim on a loan for a car that i had with them (i finished paying the laon off about 4 years ago).

I was getting fed up waiting so i emailed the CEO, and got a reply back saying would be sent to the department dealing with my claim.

5 days later (last Saturday) i got a letter in the post, saying thank you for contacting the CEO and having reviewed your complaint we can confirm a repay of £162 PPI!

The only problem was this was not the loan/PPI policy that i had complained about! - this was for a very old loan i had taken out years ago for only a £1000, that i paid off in less than a year!

So last saturday i emailed the CEO again saying what the hell is going off, this is not the loan/PPI policy i had even contacted you about. Again i got a email back saying it would be looked into.

Yesterday moning (saturday) got another letter in the post from HSBC saying sorry for the confusion we have now looked into the correct loan/PPI policy and have again upheld your complaint!!!

    Another £2355 to follow!!!!!!

Could not believe it, its only taken 6 weeks and a few email to the CEO, the £162 was paid into my account last friday, so the £2355 should be in by next weekend!

£2517 in total! - very very happy!
