PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Just reading older posts, have spurred me on to try for PPI refund on old Burton Cards I have had. Sent this e-mail.
"I have had two Burton cards (closed) which now fall under Santander and wish to reclaim all PPI payments + 8 % simple interest and compensation for inconvenience of having a policy i could not have claimed on due to receiving full sick pay and sickness / redundancy / death in service payouts if needed.
I do not believe the staff who sold me the store card are sufficiently trained regards financial services and do not recall any detailed explanation or breakdown about this. This insurance was clearly not in my best interests."

Ok am wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too excited to keep schtum! Just rang Loans.co.uk for an update & info & have just been told calcs gone to be signed off by a manager for £17098.00!!!!!!!!! I almost fell off my chair at work when he told me!!! Trying (and failing miserably already) not to get toooo excited until it is in our account, but DAMN!!! Was only expecting maybe £5k - £8k max. WHat they do is rather than pay the front loaded PPI amount £8,1000 to GE Money, they're paying it direct to us to do with as we wish!!!!!!! OMFG OMFG OMFGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!! ..............and breathe :-) I have to say in all honesty, I have nothing but good things to say about the poor staff at Loans.co.uk, they have been nothing but extremely polite, helpful and friendly whenever I have spoken to any of them. And I'm not just saying that cause of what they're paying us! One claim (almost) down, now to get going on the ole C/cards!! Good luck to all x
What a wonderful Christmas its going to be!:T:j

Just to let you know one phone call to Barclaycard and I found out I'd paid PPI on my Mastercard (but not the Visa!!). Had no idea so I've just filled in the form to complain......well maybe this time next year I might see some money back. Going to revisit some other accounts now, thank you to those who told me not to be lazy and give it another go!
Good for you!:T:D all crossed here for you!:j;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi,
Just a quick message to say I am still waiting for my Lloyds loan redress cheque and received yet another letter to say that I will receive an extra £25 (WOW:() because I have been waiting so long and that the extra interest was calculated until the 28th November so does this mean I will receive my cheque then??
Anyone else received a letter like this???
Getting fed up now!!
Hi
How long have you actually been waiting since the offer?
We are also waiting for 2 cheques from them as we no longer bank with them.
We complained about these 2 in July and we received the offer late Sept, and hubby received an email this morning just to say that "please be assured that the refunds have been processed and will be with us shortly" but that's as far as it goes with no actual timescale.
When was the last time you got in touch with them? x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I can't help with Barclays, sorry. But can you tell me how long you had to wait for santander, I emailed them my complaint earlier this week and am eagerly awaiting a response, thanks in advance:)
Sorry for the delay im flying about these days, Santander paid up no problems no queries no forms within about 3 weeks
Regarding my Barclays its all a bit weird, got the letter saying £1700 within 40 days but this week had over 4k put into bank account and no idea where from no letters nothing :eek:2025 Wins ::

Hi,
I had a reply off Deliotte today to say that after 4 letters back and forth and providing all the info they required, that they now have everything they need in my mis sold PPI claim against ACORN. The FSCS asked Deliotte to look at it and in the letter it states that they are now proccessing the claim. Is that a good sign?0 -
Another quickie - HFC have replied saying that because the loan was in 2003 that their final reply is no. They state this is because they have destroyed all of my data.
I have sent a complaint form and questionairre to the FOS.
Do most companies destroy data after 6 years as HFC state?
Wonder what my chance are? Over £7,700 paid in PPI.0 -
