Amazing feeling especially when you have waited so long, looking forward now to a good Christmas.
  • Thats me done now, all claimed and won every case.

    £14900 from First Plus
    £5000 from Barclaycard

How fantastic. What a lovely feeling it must be.

We have three claims in with Welcome Finance and were told on 12 October we would have a decision in 30 days. My husband called on Monday and was been told it's at payment stage. No idea how long we have to wait now. She also said she couldn't give a figure but we will be pleasantly surprised - since we have no clue what to expect I can't see how she came up with that :)

The thing is we have absolutely no idea what to expect. We had a car loan for 5,000 which we took out in July 2006 and which was paid off full term in July 2010. A 3,500 loan which was took out in Jan 2007 and topped up to 4,500 over three years in December 2008. Paid off 4 months early in August of this year.

We are thinking around 2-3 k. Hopefully we will not be disappointed.

    Will keep you posted!

  • Hi all,
Just a quick update on progress with Barclays for loan PPI. I've had an indicative offer and was told then that within 40 working days I'd be contacted again with some calculations. My 40 days are up next week but I've been reading that quite a few people have gone way beyond this so I rang them to check progress. They told me that they were running 2-3 weeks behind, I will get a calculations letter in the next couple of weeks then payment into my old Barclays savings account that I forgot I had since I moved my current account years ago. I did ask why some people were getting payouts quicker than others and they said some cases are more complex than others. Mine involves several loans so sounds reasonable. I have to say they were surprisingly helpful when I rang and even advised me against using a claims company, bit late if I had but good to know they're passing that message on. Just a few more weeks to wait hopefully.

sent a letter to Capital One on 12th October, got a response saying to wait 56 days, just recieved a letter saying UPHELD

    £1787.45 Premiums
    £290.78 Associated Interest
    £714.98 8% Interest.
    £2793.21 Total

Does that sound right though the PPI was added from 2004, surely the associated interest (card is @ 24.5%) should be more than the 8%, have they just got the figures the wrong way round??

    Anyway still a yayayayayayay:j:beer:
    MBNA Upheld £20,663.63 2/11/11, cheque recieved 25/11/11 :j
    Capital One Upheld 11/11/11 £2793.21 cheque recieved 2/12/11 :j
Santander rejected by them 11/11/11, counter rejected by me 17/11/11. x2 letters advising they need another 4 weeks and then another rejection:rotfl:

    Hi,

I am currently awaiting a response to an e-mail I sent to the CEO of Capital One regarding my PPI. I too have had the card since 2004 and had no recollection of ticking a box on a form nor did I receive any info about PPI from Capital one, is this any way similar to your case? I have had a "final response" letter but took this further and recieved a reply to my e-mail stating that this would be looked into. A letter had been sent to me but I haven't received it yet.

I ticked no to the box when I applied for the card I was mis sold the insurance when I called to activate the card in the summer of 2004, I remember the guy waffling on for ages about how it would cover all my cards and my partners. I had no need for the insurance as I was on maternity leave at the time (SMP so very low) and was returning part time so my partner would have taken responsibility for any payments. I don't remember saying yes. My guess is that if they do still have the telephone conversation on their records it's full of old flannel and they realised they didn't have a leg to stand on. However I expected more of a fight from them than this ;)

I still have Santander to fight though :D

let me know how it goes and if I can help:)
