I am waiting on Blackhorse. They advised that they are to send payment by 15th November. Will advise if they are true to their word

  • two weeks ago, I applied online for a barclaycard, I had previously held one, but didn't do well with it. anyway, they sent me a letter saying no, because i had held a card before and not run it in line with their T and C's. Fair enough I thought, but then decided to claim back PPi on that card I had had. Guess what they returned my complaint saying I hadnt given enough information (no account number, haven't got it) in order for them to process my complaint any further. What a load of B@£$%x, they can find me based on my online app but can't to process my claim that had more info on!!! Needless to say, I just emailed them to let them know how i feel........Round Two!!!
IF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???
  • First time poster long time lurker, hope I'm doing it right! After 26 weeks my dad has received cheques in the post today totaling £5000 from Loyds. [Mam still hasn't had her calculations after 26 weeks. Another e-mail to be sent tonight]. Over the moon for dad! something I don't understand is that even though he had no paperwork, Loyds have paid out from loans from 94 95 98. I've recently had two joint loans refused from YB. [Although they have paid out on another 2]. The reason for refusal is that they have no paperwork showing we had loans with ppi even though they had the account numbers?!! The loans were from the 90s .YB said that because of data protection, all paperwork should be destroyed if it is older than 6 years. Why is it that Loyds and other banks pay out even if the loans are older than 6 years. YB must be saving a fortune.
  • There are some great success stories lately. Well done all who have recieved their money and hope it wont be long for those still waiting. x x

Too damn right, just keep at them.

However, if you any cards put away somewhere or statements the account number should be enclosed on them.

How long ago did you take out the accounts?

If push comes to shove although its optional, you could request for a SAR for all your data, but they may only hold details going back to the last 6 years, yet sometimes longer.
With this request though you enclose the one off £10 cheque or postal order and they have 40 calendar days to comply.
    SAR letter link here.
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553

One SAR is sufficient for both of the account if you taken the 2 out with them and just the one payment as stated above, if you decide to do this just give them as many details as you have as you've no account number to add to the letter and old addresses if this applies to you and surnames etc and your DOB in order for them to try tracking down your data.

Although if any of the accounts were still active or even paid off in the last 6 years a Credit report should hold these details, just for £2 or you can request for this online free for 30 days, google in Equifax or Experian or you could just google in "Credit Reports" and check for the best one for you.

    Hope this helps, good luck.;)

Hi and welcome and well done on your dad's success!

Hope your mam will not be waiting too now long either, fingers crossed.

It seems some banks works differently to others.
In my case, I have so far had quite a few upheld and paid out over the last year or 2, and still have 2 now where I am just awaiting for the cheque refunds, but because there was not paperwork or not a lot of it apart from the account numbers, they did give a standard offer of £1.200 on each one.

I would contact YB and ask if they will consider just an offer of that sort, see what they say, make them aware that you understand that others have been offered payouts with offers where there is still account numbers but no paperwork and you will be happy with a reasonable offer, and state as a genuine customer with genuine reasons for reclaiming you believe its the least they can do to settle this matter.

    It maybe worth a shot.;)

Its correct that 6 years is the timescale held for keeping data, but I know what your saying that they still had the account numbers and no info.
