digitaltrance wrote: »Well I have now been waiting for my PPI refund cheque of over £16,000 for 8 weeks and as far as I can see they are now in breach of a contract which I signed, agreeing that I would accept their offer and the time it would take to raise the cheque. As I have mentioned on here before I have phoned week in week out and the stories I have been told by first plus have been just a bunch of lies even to the point of being told that they hoped to get them to me in six weeks when I had already passed the six week period. Today I phoned and I have someone trying to figure out where the cheque is at ..The !!!! and bull story which is so stupid it's probably true is that cheques are raised in Cardiff then sent to we think Scotland and then they are sent to the customers.... I have been told that Cardiff has a back log of acceptance letters but they seem unclear where they are with the cheques. I have been waiting for a return call most of the day so we will be calling again at 4pm. I am more than happy to drive from Essex to Cardiff to get the cheque an offer I’m sure they will come up with a reason why I can't do that.
I have been through the ombudsman they have arrived at this agreement with first plus and the agreement is now folly..What to do ….I think that Mr Lewis :money: or someone in power will have to shine a light on the fact that both Barclays and first plus are not giving the money back in the time frames that already factored in backlogs and delays ..My wife and I are at our wits end... with no one to help us….:(
Called call centre again at 4pm to chase earlier call.
Was told they haven’t heard back from First Plus Cardiff yet, and they have no other way of contacting them as they are a retail call centre for Barclays not First Plus? They have said that they will email first plus again to chase cheque... when I told them that they are in breach of their contract as it is now over 8 weeks, they said that the FSA was aware and they have a few days leeway?
I sub sequentially called the FSA and they confirmed they have 96 hours to get the cheque to me or they are definitely in breach.
Are these just more stories??? While the money will be great when it comes, I'm not sure if it's been worth all the sleepless nights to my over the past year.... as I have bipolar what many seem simply like a process to others is hell to me. ...This stuff should come with a warning 'claiming ppi can seriously damage your health'.0 -

I've had my fingers crossed for so long I'm developing arthritis!
I'm still hopeful but there appears to be no rhyme or reason to how payments are made.
If the tales of contractors taking over are true, at least the people making the payments might have a little bit of motivation as they will no doubt be targetted (probably on a bonus scheme) to clear the backlog within x number of days.
I have experience of working with these sort of contractors and the majority of them are good, they get paid top dollar for what they do but only if they achieve results and they will work until they hit their targets, unlike salaried staff who aren't rewarded for customer service.Money Saving IQ 142 - Does that mean I am tight?0 -

Thanks for that info, I spoke to Firstplus this morning as I am at the seven week mark and still no cheques. They owe me £20,000, they have told me not to call back until I get to the nine week mark. Even if it gets to 8 weeks and 5 days over it is still eight weeks . What a load of tosh

I'm up for anything to get at this bunch! What do you suggest? I am going to e-mail Mr Diamond later to let of some steam:eek:.0 -
Unbelievable, how much more time are they going to add to give us all our money back  My god can you imagine if we owed them, do they give this amount of time to us. Goes to prove all financial institutions are in favour of the banks and definitely not the consumer.:mad:digitaltrance wrote: »Called call centre again at 4pm to chase earlier call.

Thought I'd let you know who my claim is getting on ... or NOT !!
Sent paperwork off June 2011 received settlement letter on the final day allowed 16 weeks later (3/10/11).
Signed and sent back the acceptance on 4/10/11
Received letter back on 12/10/11 saying signatures dont match (rubbish, i have a copy of the original signed document .... a delaying tactic !??)
Phoned them on 19/10/11 (upon return from my hol which is to be paid for by my firstplus cheque if I ever receive it !!??) to say not happy and not wasting more time with snail mail want a fax number to send it to ... sent fax on 21/10/11.
Phoned today (2/11/11) to make sure they had it ... yes they have it but they havent done anything with it, it was just sat on the system waiting to be printed !!!! (I also sent a hard copy by post... no reference to this on the system).
The kind lady said that she will now print this off and send it for payment, told her i had waited long enough and did not expect to wait the 6-8 weeks they advised on settlement letter, as they had already wasted 4 weeks.
Does anyone know if I can charge extra interest on waiting for cheque surely 28 days is more acceptable ?
Has anybody else had the 'signature do not match' tactic used on them ?

What a load of ---- they are hun, yes I have heard of somebody else who's signatures did not match. People should not be made to wait the full 8+ week's again. Come on surely there is something we can do about this company.0 -

How come I get told that they are dealing with payments in a strict order based on date of claim or date of offer and this case gets settled before mine, when my offer was dated 8 September?
Lloyds, no wonder they are having problems if they don't know 8 comes before 9.
Hi
I made my complaint letter on 5th May, My Claim Upheld/offer letter was dated 22 August, Alegedly they sent the details of my repayment for my 6 loans on the 20 sept. I received a duplicate? on the 24 October. I have e-mailed Lloyds CEO several times and phoned them at least once a week since the end of August. My elderly mother is due to have a very serious heart operation in the London heart hospital and I need MY money to be able to pay to stay near her at the time. I live in north wales.
I am seriously thinking that if the worst happens then I will take legal action against Lloyds for the distrees they are causing me by holding onto my money, not a huge sum £2400. but it would certainly make a difference

I would happily do something, false promises seem to be there thing, and most are so impolite on the phone and give you no useful information at all, not even an apology for lack of knowledge :eek:What a load of ---- they are hun, yes I have heard of somebody else who's signatures did not match.
