hi guys could someone please tell me who owns beneficial finance credit card was told itwas hbos but is it hsbc? and a telephone number please
well done all the winners this week0 -
Hi all
I called Llloydstsb today to check on the status of my credit card PPI complaint and was told they would send a final letter either rejecting the claim or making an offer within the 16 weeks they have agreed (its been 12 weeks so far).
If it is a rejection does the fact that it is a final letter mean that I won't be able to query it and will have to go straight to FOS. Some posts have been stating that they have written to their various organisations to offer them a fortnight to reconsider when they have been rejected.
Also I am just appalled to be reading your various stories about how the banks are stalling at every turn. I cant believe I let some of these same organisations look after my money and mortgage.
Thanks

You need to reply to them, although this being a final response, they may not reply.
Write back to them (save a copy of this ) say you disagree with their findings regarding this ppi and would like the telephone calls to send to FOS,tell them that at no time during the sales call were you told that the ppi would be on the loan to term end with interest, you thought that the ppi would be paid off the loan at the 5 year point, the sales person did not make this clear to you in either recording that they have that this was not the case, had you known the full cost of this ppi you would not have taken this and do not believe you were given enough info about this productto make an informed decision.
Put that you believe they have been selective with the phone calls, and have only chosen what suited them to refuse your claim on, as your hubby told the guy about sick pay etc.
Let them know you want a response in 14 days.
If they come back with a no,or do not reply within 14 days, send the original letter that you sent to them and a copy of this one,and go straight to FOS.
THIS IS A WIN, THEY ARE TRYING IT ON :mad::mad::mad:

Can't believe it.... I e-mailed CEO less than a week ago and today I received a letter from Firstplus stating my claim has been upheld. £7002.46 is their offer but by my calculations they are £412.00 short. My reckoning is that I have made 46 payments with the payment protection being £145.42 = £6689.32 add on the 8% interest of £725.88 = £7415.20. I will be talking to them about this but the main thing is I have won.
Thanks everyone for all your help. I couldn't have won this without your help and support

Well done!
It's unbelievable really that in such a short time they can change their minds from not upheld final decision to upheld!

I spoke to a lady today who has said that payment will be 3 weeks away max. She reckons that they've brought another company in to handle payments and its now all moving.
Fingers crossed!0 -
When you get the letter, if you disagree with their conclusions then you can write to them and explain why, giving them any further information / evidence you have and ask them to reconsider.jimbogjones wrote: »If it is a rejection does the fact that it is a final letter mean that I won't be able to query it and will have to go straight to FOS. If they stand by their decision, but you still feel they are wrong, then you can still go to the Ombudsman. You have 6 months to do this, from when they send you their decision.
The reason I suggest going back to the bank first is simply because it's much quicker. If they reconsider it might take a few weeks, going through the Ombudsman process can be many months.0 -
I used the advice and forms from the website and, after around 11 months wait and with the help of the ombudsman, I have just been offered £4065 back from HSBC.
I would thoroughly recommend using this service and DO IT YOURSELF.
Don't be tempted to use third parties who will take a large portion of YOUR MONEY.
It really is so simple using the advice and information here.
GO FOR IT!!

Took a loan out in 2007 with PPI. Due to an inheritance we repaid this in 2008.
Using the advice on here we sent a claim in for miss selling of PPI in May this year.
Barclays wrote to us in August saying their Final Response was NOT to refund us the PPI. We sent the forms to the Ombudsman asking them to look into it. We also asked Barclays for a copy of the call which arrived at the weekend. :money:
Out of the blue today we have received a further Final Response from Barclays saying they have reconsidered the evidence and they agree the policy was not accurately explained (no doubt they have since listened to the call!!) AND offering us a full refund of all the PPI + interest.
Thank you Martin! We love you xx :j:beer::T0
