After visiting the moneysavingexpert.com website sometime in April 2011, I noticed a lot of people were making PPI claims with a lot of sucess. During this time I 'Dilly Dallied' in making a claim although it was a no brainer to do it.

My push came when I received good news from my partner that I am going to be a father in 2012 :):). That gave me a much needed push to put through PPI claims on 2 out of the 3 loans which I had taken out. These were with HFC bank and also Blackhorse Finance (notice that im 'dilly dallying' on the final PPI claim but I will pull my finger out to complete)

I am pleased to say that after submitting an appeal in mid August for HFC Bank, I received a response today with my claim being upheld and in turn sent an acceptance offer of £1617.05!!

For anyone who who has posted up their successes or failures in making a PPI Claim, I would like to say thank you!!

I will keep you informed as to when Blackhorse Finance get back to me (I will complete the final one next week. lol)

    :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Did your appeal against HFC bank go to the FOS?
  • I have received an upheld letter today from RBS. This was for a loan I had with Lombard back in 2001. Their letter states that given the amount of time that has passed since I made my complaint (May 2011) as a gesture of goodwill and without any admission of liability the bank is prepared to offer the following:

£2024.98 premiums paid plus interest amount.
    £1056.16 statutory and stay interest

They obviously do not like admitting this insurance was mis-sold to me, and I wonder if someone could please check their figures. To me they admit mis-selling by upholding my complaint, they just don't like using the words do they:

    £10,000 Loan
    £1614.74 Repayment Protection Premium
    £11614.74 Total Loan

£2950.86 Total Charge for Credit (Interest)
    £14565.60 Total amount to pay
    9.7% APR
    60 monthly payments of £242.76

Can someone please advise if the refund figure they quote is correct because I am absolutely rubbish at 'sums'.

    Thanks for your help

  • Is anyone able to help me in drafting an email that I can send to Andrea Barry at Lloyds to get my payment sorted as soon as possible now. I have been waiting since July and keep getting fobbed off with one excuse after another. According to the bog standard reply sent out by Andrea yesterday, it has been passed to a complaints assessor for investigation, but from reading posts on here she seems to be 'assisting' some, and they are getting payments extremely quickly once she gets involved. it just seems unfair that there are people like me who have been waiting for months for payment, and others who have been waiting a mere few weeks, get taken on by this Andrea, and getting paid as matter of urgency.......any help out there would be gratefully received :-)

I think its a disgrace that you havent been paid yet but keep fighting!!
This is the first time anyone has mentioned a complaints assessor dealing with their claim and not Andrea. I think you should email again and ask her to personally get involved as she seems to be the woman to get the ball rolling (thats what i put in my email) UNLESS something is wrong with your claim and they are trying to work it out, cos it seems like a lot of the people who have been waiting a long time are now getting paid.

LOL, this certainly cheered me up, even if it didn't help.........thanks anyway :D
  • Did your appeal against HFC bank go to the FOS?

No. I got the response yesterday evening directly from HFC. They come to a decision on 24.10.2011 (from looking at the letter)

I sent the request mid August.

    Are you awaiting correspondence?

Cannot think of anything that could be wrong with my claim, as loan its connected to is still running, payments all up to date, never missed a payment in entire term of loan......only thing I can think of is the fact I am still paying loan every month, so balance is obviously changing, plus as loan is getting paid every month, this also means I am paying PPI still. Asked if I can clear loan as only got 1 year left and have funds to clear it now, but they will not give me a settlement figure as got this dispute going on.
Surely it would make life much simpler if loan was settled now, no more payments would surely mean it was easier to calculate what I am owed, rather then having to keep re-calculating it every month when another instalment is paid?????

I was in a similar situation with current loan still running. On Monday I had payments go into bank for 2 previous loans and interest and 8% for current loan. I am still awaiting £4300(ppi amount on current loan) but was told this had been sent to loan centre so they can restructure the loan and then they would pay that amount into my bank account by the end of this week.Checked with loan centre today but nothing has happened yet!!
