PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

  • Hi All,

I was watching Watchdog last night and Martin Lewis being on there gave me an idea. Why don't we all email Watchdog with a new story and highlight the fact that all the banks are now holding on to our money for extraordinary lengths of time. It seems there was a lot of publicity surrounding the PPI misselling, but doesn't seem to have been a follow up does there and I think this should be highlighted to shame the Banks into paying back to the money we have been told we are owed. Why should they be allowed to take 28 days (+) to pay us back what is rightly ours, would they allow us the same timescale, I doubt it. If you agree could you go on the BBC's Watchdog site and click on Your Story and send an email with brief details. This the Banks need a kick up the backside and know Martin is the man to do!!!:beer::j
I am more than game to do this, we put our claim in September 2010, RBs told us to go away, we went to the FOS, well you know the rest, letter in July 2011 asking us to accept an offer, no figures etc we have just been told that they are calculating our check blah blah.... and still nothing.... I am going to their website right now, follow me everyone!! :T

LOTS OF WINS FROM FIRSTPLUS THIS WEEK, YIPPEE X

It is so great to see people getting there money back.

By the way Nat - they paid us interest on the original amount offered (8 weeks interest I presume) and also the 8% was paid net so that we dont have to worry about paying tax on this. Hope this helps you too.
  • Hi MoneySavingexperts,
Wondering if I can get piece of advise from you guys, I had a loan with Natwest since 2006, it's a consolidation from my older loans and gone bigger. Unfortunately, finances got out of hand and now got a CCJ :o. Saw some documents now and noticed I got insurance from that loan, can I still claim though I have CCJ?
Any information will be of big help..

    Many thanks..

Was told money would be in my account on Wed 12/10/11 but as usual I was misinformed by the lovely people at RBS. Just checked account today - no money in yet again. Thus claim has been going on since August last year. My loan was over seven years and I never missed a payment. Can you imagine how they would be chasing me if i owed them? I am totally pi**ed off!

    :mad::mad::mad::mad:

The most annoying thing about all this is the fact that last year in August I made three claims on three loans to RBS. All posted on the same day and in the same envelope. The two smaller claims of just over £1000 each were paid out in early December 2010 but they hung on to this larger claim (what a surprise) which then got caught up in the delay and the High Court appeal. The longer I wait the more people I tell about reclaiming. My boss has even checked his credit card and his mortgage documents and he is putting claims in. I've told them all at work I will help them in any way I can with their claims as long as they make a donation to charity if and when they are paid out. This is war and I am rounding up the troops!

  • Hi All

Seems RBS are taking it to the the limit.
Today is my 28th working day and received a chque in the post for part of the settlement. The rest they have used to pay off my overdraft.
Did have to email the CEO three times

As your screen name says 'glimmerofhope' hopefully they'll start to get their finger out a bit better and get some cheques issued.

Well done and enjoy your money.:D
Thanks to all the competition posters.

    Hi there

As far as I know you can, although if there is remaining debt they may use the refunds towards them and anything remaining will come back to you.
Unless someone else clarifies otherwise, give it a go, no harm done I don't think.

Reclaim questionnaire below - step 3, complete and send to the head office or complaints, you can make a reclaim on all of them if mis sold the ppi, but if for different reasons, complete separate forms, but otherwise you can of course complain on the same form, but remember to include all account numbers that apply and save copies, good luck.
