I received a protection premiums offer letter two weeks ago from HSBC. I sent an acceptance letter back to them, but the letter HSBC sent to me said I had to visit my local branch and fill out a form and provide two forms of ID. When I went to my branch they had no idea what they needed to fill out, so they copied my ID and the letter the HSBC regulated sales complaints department sent to me, and sent it back to them.
I have since tried ringing the number on my letter. 02380723838 and another number 02380723004 to confirm that they had received my information, and that it was correct, but both numbers are either engaged, or the just ring and ring, has anybody else had the same problem, and does anybody know how long HSBC are taking to pay?0 -

Hi all,
Just checked my bank balance and finally, MBNA have paid up £1039.53 not bad considering I only paid £259.00 in PPI payments.
I also received a letter from Barclaycard stating that they won't be upholding my calim due to a lack of evidence. I think I'll send a nice e-mail to the ceo and if that doesn't work I'll let the rottweiler (the wife) loose on them...lol0 -
Hi hvae just received an "up held" offer from Barclays on an old loan that I took out on 6/1/04. But I dont know if these figures sound correct so could please someone help me work out if it does sound correct. If any more info is needed I will try and find it:
The PPI on the loan was for £1224.08 and the interest added to this was £623.92 making the total payable for the PPI £1848.00 (the actual loan was for £5000 and I think it might have been for over 5 years). The loan was taken out on 6/1/04 and repaid around September 2005.
The have offered me (including 8% interest to include 40 more days!!) £379.19.
I just think this sounds a bit low. I do realise I would have had a refund when I paid it off but does anyone else think this sounds a low offer? They say its their final offer and if I have any complaints to go to the FOS to complain.0 -
