I have had my RBS payout in wait for it 25 working days!!!! Initial complaint 19 july 2010, offer letter 2nd sept 2011, received by them 8th sept, paid today. I have emailed Hester complaining about their process and delays but I didnt ask for my payment to be made any sooner than anyone else as I was happy to wait my turn. Thanks to all the regulars for your support. I can get a new tumble dryer now - I like to live life on the edge!!!

Have you had any dealings with GE money. Shes had at least 5 store cards, Next, etam, house of fraser etc that have all been with GE money and paid horrendous PPI on them.
I sent them all the letter asking for my account details but got the usuall bumrush as the accounts were closed.
Thinking about sending the same FOS letter to them but was awaiting the outcome of the RBOS case. Is it possible that RBOS on investigation of the loan will repay the PPI paid on her credit card if we're successfull with the loan claim?
I do have a home loan with GE but didn't have any ppi on it so no, not got any experience of them for claiming against, but if you have the card numbers and know there was ppi on them just send in the questionnaire with your reasons for mis-sell. If you need the numbers you may have to submit a SAR letter, there is a template letter on the reclaim section of the main site, you have to send this is with a cheque for £10 but they should send you all details they have for you. Once the account is closed they don't need to keep the agreements, but they should still hold details of the account, and as said if you have the account numbers, know you had ppi, and have reasons for mis-sell then this is all you really need, it's just a bonus if you have a copy of the agreement and statements should they come back to challange anything.
Another way round them has been to get a copy of your credit report and see if they are on it, if they are, you can dispute with the credit agency, who then write to the lender, and before you know you'll receive details of your agreements i'm fairly sure. Another way is to pop into your local branch, or if you have done online banking you may have statements showing old direct debits for the payments, or indeed the old direct debits, most accounts show them on your list of DD's unless you've cleaned them out when finished, and of course your card number would be used as the reference to the payer.
I doubt RBS will look at the credit card as well as the loan, I had to submit a SAR to them and my loan stuff came from one address, and the card stuff came from the card centre, to me always best to submit a seperate claim for each one, plus the way each one is dealt with is completely different also, loans are easy to calculate, even I can do it, where as cc's are long and protracted as you have to rebuild your complete history from when ppi was added. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
HSBC still being infuriating. Offer letter sent to the wrong address on 7th September (within a day of their 'deadline'), so phoned after the deadline passed to check and they re-sent it.
Now they have 'lost' my acceptance in the post.
Again, I called to check progress and they said they hadn't received it, so it is being resent -
5 days later I hadn't received it and apparently "it is in the queue to be checked".
I know we shouldn't be chasing the banks as they are so busy trying to deal with the queries, but for both HSBC and Barclaycard, my paperwork had fallen into a black hole - and as HSBC have offered £5,371.....0 -
I have just recieved an offer letter off HSBC for £2863.82. I am amazed that this has been so quick. They recieved my claim for on 6th september 2011 and her i am 5 weeks later with an offer. I will send back the acceptance form today recorded delivery and wait for the money to be credited to my account.

1) MBNA repaid £700 in March 2010 after first letter.
2) Barclaycard repaid £986 after second letter threatening Ombudsman.
3) HSBC approx £2500 now with Omdudsman after their adjudicator ruled in my favour but HSBC still denied miss selling.
4) Marks and Spencers charge card and personal reserve £598 and £900 now at first stages of Ombudsman against the insurance underwriter's after M&S money declared the FOS did not cover them and Allianz the underwriter denied liability. Letter received today from the FOS on this.
5) Santander £398 deny miss selling and claim they were not covered by the FOS on storecards in 2003 when the PPI was set up so I have now requested the Insirance underwriter info from them but I have been given two underwriters names and addresses so I have asked them to revisit this.
6) Vanquis Bank approx £300 deny selling PPI and call it a repayment Option plan but on the SAR report they have sent me they have crossed out payments labelled as life insurance and insurance and handwrittten ROP on my SAR report. This is now being sent to the FOS.
7) Finally my father in law claimed and got back over £9000 from hsbc in March.
Right an update on the above...
1) have now gone back to mbna and asked for the case to be reopened as the ppi paid was 1400 not including interest and they offered me £700 which I took before I fully investigated ppi miss selling.
2) £986 from barclays.
3) HSBC letter received today offering £1184 for one loan to be paid to myself and £5660 for my second loan to be deducted from the balance of that loan - well chuffed with this as was not expecting so much.
4) and 5) both with FOS and keep getting letters stating that due to legal complexities they are still investigating... fingers crossed.
6) FOS ruled in favour of vanquis as my wife agreed to the ppi verbally in the phone so they claim it was not miss selling.
7) father in law got £9000 back from hsbc..
Good times0
