PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

  • Sent off the template from here to Santander on the 30th Sept for PPI on £12000 loan taken out online with Alliance and Leicester in 2006 and cancelled in 2010.
5 days later (including wknd) received letter offering full refund plus interest of £2845.44.
So pleased I read this site as would never have realised how easy it is to reclaim without it.

Hi,the rebate of ppi will have been in the 6027.37,i cant work that out for the rebate,go on the bank charge calculator and put the ppi in for each month and year and see what the total ppi for both loans was,the end figures will be the 8% and the ppi.
We will take it from there.
If you want me to check the ppi for you,i need the first ppi date that you paid the loan and the last date for the first loan, and the first payment date for the second loan.

You will at least have a figure from this and one of the maths wizards (when they come on !!) will maybe work out what the rebate was.

first loan 1st repayment for that was 17th march 2003
the second loan 1st of july 2003 this one is still running

Some unbelievable news received this evening. I have just got the ball rolling helping on a PPI re claim for a good friend of mine. It was with Abbey National on a loan taken out 5 years ago with 10 months remaining. My friend sent off the questionnaire on THURSDAY last week and has just informed me that Santander have phoned TONIGHT offering a full refund of PPI + 8% standard interest and will make payment within 8 weeks :j:j:j:beer::D
To say I am stunned is an understatement to say the least:eek:

I have a claim in myself that has been going on for 5 weeks, wish they could have been this quick with mine :o

Can I please say on behalf of my friend a very big thank you to Martin Lewis for this fabulous site. To the likes of Di, amersall, Niggly and smitchy to name just a few for all the superb advice and encouragement, without which I wouldn't have had a clue how to go about it :T
A success in less than a week, could be a record
    Successes
    Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid :)
    MBNA £3,600 Paid :)

    Jansey07,here we go.

    First loan ppi paid 42.90 + 8% @17.30 = 60.20 redress for first loan.
    ppi 6.40 monthly.
    Second loan ppi paid from 1st july 03 to 1st october = 1.388.12 + 8%@ 461.28 = 1.849.28.
    Ppi monthly payment 13.88.

Your total redress should be 1.909.48.
But you need to find the rebate of ppi for the first loan that they gave you, this has to come off the redress as you had this back when the loan was settled.
You need to ask them for the figures and how they came to this redress.

Both loans should have ppi given back, less the rebate for the first loan, and the second loan balance should reduce by the total ppi of that loan.

    Does this help?.

  • Hello everyone. I finally got my cheque last week for £4,780 from RBS. Thank you to Martin, Niggly, and to all who steered me through since May 10 when my application went in on PPI paid on a£25 K loan from Sept 2006 which was paid off early eighteen months later. Additionally- RBS are giving me a £150 goodwill gesture for causing me a lot of hassle after the claim was accepted in making me travel 40 miles to prove my identity despite the fact that they had all my loan details (MINT) and address and that I banked with Nat West for 41 years.
