- What were you reclaiming: I submitted claims for a Northern Rock loan, an RBS loan, a BOS Preference account and 6 credit cards from RBS, Mint, Natwest, BOS, Marbles and Morgan Stanley.
- How much did you get back: So far I've received £9181 from Northern Rock Loan, £2758 from RBS loan, £5168 from RBS credit card, £5973 from Mint credit card, £4694 from Natwest credit card which comes to £27,775 in total. I have heard from BOS that they have upheld my Preference account and credit card claim but have no idea how much I will get and am waiting to hear from Marbles and Morgan Stanley (Barclays).
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: I sent one letter to each of them towards the end of May and didn't contact them again. I got a template from the internet and adjusted it to my own circumstances.
- And then write your brief reclaim tale: I started off with £47,000 in overdrafts and credit cards which I was paying but just scraping by as they were taking about £850 a month of my salary. I now have just under £20,000 left to pay off and am fairly confident that in a few months I will be debt free for the first time in 22 years. Haven't spent a penny on myself as there is nothing I want more than to clear my feet. I didn't find this site until after I had sent my letters off but I look in every day and the success stories have kept me going. I have also helped a few friends and family and they are starting to get some money back as well. I thought I would post this to encourage others and am happy to answer any questions anyone has or email my templates. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and wish you all good luck with your claims so you can feel the same. I will keep you updated with the rest of my claims.

With a week left to the 16 week deadline RBS made me an offer today of £9,135 ... to say I'm delighted is an understatement as I was only expecting £2000.
Many thanks for all the encouragement and information on this site . Will now get my credit card going and also get my family started . Thanks again ....Slainte Mhath !!!!!!
I'm down in Ayrshire but have been up to Stornoway with my work a couple of times and have had a ball, real nice people, so enjoy your win, and don't spend it all at once, hehe.:DThanks to all the competition posters.0 -

OMG. Finally got my letter today from RBS after putting claim in last August. Result - claim is upheld and offer of over £14,000 refund on my PPI. Posted off the acceptance letter and just have to wait now for the money to go into my bank account. Worth noting that they say they will endeavor to make payment within 28 WORKING days in receipt of acceptance form so that could be 5/6 weeks wait for cash.
Thanks to everyone on here for being so positive and keeping my spirits up. Have persuaded my OH to make a claim on his MBNA card so off we go again!
Will keep you all up to date with date I actually get the cash.

Well 28 days have passed and still not received any moneyfrom RBS so I assume they are sticking to 28 WORKING days. Not been online for a couple of weeks as have been away. Has anyone received money from RBS and if so how long did it take? Congratulations to everyone who has been successful while I have been away.0 -
Hi ,My hubby had a refusal for his ppi from Barclaycard,he has been self employed since 1999 and informed them of a change of address and going self employed at the same time, although my hubby remembers the guy on the phone at the time saying that his employment status (change of job ,they did not need to know-just his new address)he also sent a statement from his accountant stating he was self employed,he has received notification back stating that his application was made by post and that they were satisfied he knew what he was doing and that he was suitable for cover, surely self employed is not covered by Barclaycard is it,and also they were informed on change of address and job status, but not budging, anyone else won on self employed basis with B/CARD or are they just trying it on,Will this have to go to the FOS,they did mention this was there final reply,Could someone help us on this please, for 11 years they have been taking payment protection and we do not think he is covered.Any suggestions or advice
Thank you
Same rejection as my wifes. Application by post (no way) and the cover was suitable (it wasn't for a number of reasons that BC seem to have ignored.)
We decided to stop messing about and have gone to the FOS. We await the decision.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

For those who have not yet done it get on it!!
- What were you reclaiming: I submitted a claim for a Halifax credit card
- How much did you get back: I received a letter this week telling me i was getting £7048
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: I sent a letter myself using the template on this site. I wrote to them in May and they took the full 16 weeks to respond.
- And then write your brief reclaim tale: My credit card was in debt of £6500 and i was paying off riduculous amount of interest every month. I decided to claim PPI even though i was not sure i was paying any and wrote to them myself. I was only expecting to get back £1000 but they gave me back all my premiums plus a APR refund. Now my credit card is clear and i am in credit with £500. If you have any questions let me know and i will see if i can help at all.

Hi Trish
Have you tried writing to them, and ask them to reconsider, and also give the information as you have done on your post above.
I would give them any further info that you think that may help and tell them your not happy with the decision made and feel its not investigated properly.
Give them 14 days and if you hear nothing, or if they do not change the decision, move on to the ombudsman, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Thanks
I sent my original claims in February and it was placed on hold for JR so I took it to FOS. They said they would deal with them after those that had not been sent to FOS. They did not make me an offer and evidently sent the cheque with the calculations on 9th September. That was the date on the letter and cheque but not postmarked until 23rd September.
That was a paid up loan. I also have an on going loan which I complained about PPI and I received an offer letter and a new loan agreement mid September. I have not received the cheque for that yet.
As far as Barclaycard, I sent my acceptance letter back 25th August (the one they sent 9th August never arrived) and I am still waiting for that to be credited to my bank account. Soon I hope!0 -
Hi anne47, congratulations how is Lewis today? Well done on your win, I'm waiting on results back from RBS, five complaints due a week on Monday, I hope I come home next week to find a wee letter with a similar offer or better on my hall mat.
