  • Hi

Just thought I'd share my story of success reclaiming the PPI payments from my bank loan with HSBC.

I sent my complaint off in May after my boyfriend nagged me to look into it. I followed Martin's advice and last week I received an offer of £12000 :j! I was absolutely amazed and this was much more than I was expecting.

I've sent off my acceptance of offer form and am now just waiting for them to pay the money into my bank.

    Thanks Martin! :money:
  • Hi
Does anyone have an email address for Capital one loans? I submitted the forms on 4th August and have heard anything.
Have had a rejection from Barclaycard (Final response). I'll report on my next action which I suppose with be to the ombudsman (?) as soon as I have studied all the 'bumph' that they sent.
    Many thanks
    Bear

I've just received a letter from Santander to say they have accepted my PPI claim of just over £4k - much more than i calculated but they have taken into consideration a previous loan i had with them - second loan which i claimed for partially paid of the first if that makes sense!

Forms sent off and letter of acceptance received in under a month! :D:D:D

Luck comes in threes right? New baby, wad of cash - whats next I'm excited - I wish i wasnt on antibiotics i need a drink to celebrate!!! :D:D:D HAPPY DAYS :D:D:D

THANK YOU MARTIN AND ALL ON THE FORUMS FOR YOUR HELP:beer:

  • Hi all

I've received an offer letter from Santander this morning for an old Alliance & Leicester loan :j
I'm just not sure that the calculations are correct.

The issue is that this is an old loan and I don't have any paperwork, I'm not even 100% sure how much I borrowed at the time...

I've been told that PPI was paid between August 2000 and March 2005, so, 56 payments if my calculations are correct.

    The offer letter states -
    (A) PPI premiums paid until 1 March 2005 - £2634.50
    (B) Statutory interest on (A) until 30 September - £1862.03
    (C) Total Refund - £4496.53

Appreciate that there is little information to work with, but is anybody able to advise if this is correct?

    Any advice greatly appreciated

:j:j:T:TWooHoo Letter from Lloyds TSB today, I have been waiting 8 weeks to say they will be sending me a cheque for £6,800 am so happy, I went through it checking dates PPI started when it finished etc and the interest works out right as well, they left it late to contact me as the FOS had given them 8 weeks which is up on Monday. So will now wait for my cheque and will be taking my grandchildren to Florida next year. Without all the info and advise on this site I would never even have bothered claiming (I would probably have gone through one of these reclaiming companies) I cant thank MSE enough Big hugs to everyone for the answers to my questions and advise and encouragement and last but certainly not lease THANKS TO MARTIN. And thanks from all my grandkids too Mickey Mouse here we come!!!!!!!

Hi ,My hubby had a refusal for his ppi from Barclaycard,he has been self employed since 1999 and informed them of a change of address and going self employed at the same time, although my hubby remembers the guy on the phone at the time saying that his employment status (change of job ,they did not need to know-just his new address)he also sent a statement from his accountant stating he was self employed,he has received notification back stating that his application was made by post and that they were satisfied he knew what he was doing and that he was suitable for cover, surely self employed is not covered by Barclaycard is it,and also they were informed on change of address and job status, but not budging, anyone else won on self employed basis with B/CARD or are they just trying it on,Will this have to go to the FOS,they did mention this was there final reply,Could someone help us on this please, for 11 years they have been taking payment protection and we do not think he is covered.Any suggestions or advice

    Thank you
