  • Thanks so much for the fab info and advice on here regarding claiming back PPI. I sent off my complaint to Lloyds in April regarding a credit card I'd had with them and the PPI I had paid ( settled and closed the card account last year) Received my offer letter last week of over £5,000! I won't hold my breath to see how quickly the money is paid back to me though! When I phoned to ask about this, I was told it would be anything from 10 days to 6 weeks! They said that the PPI from cards was being settled quicker than PPI from loans- not sure why?I had e mailed them on their ' customer care' contact 3 times, but never received a response. It took 4 days and hours of waiting on their 'dedicated phone line' to finally speak to them. I'm delighted about the refund, but hope that it comes through quickly- can you imagine Lloyd's response if I owed them an amount of money?
  • Hi
Just got my Lloyds TSB PPI loan complaint upheld. I put the complaint in mid-June (telephone + follow-up letter).
    Details:

    Loan 1 £3548
    Loan 2 £8404
    Loan 3 £1633

making a grand total of £13,586 !! When I started the complaints process back in June, never thought I'd get back so much.
They said payment will be made by cheque "shortly". I'm still waiting for the LLoyds Credit Card complaint. I've had the card since 1997. Thanks to everyone on this site and good luck for those still waiting.

Hi there, dont cancel the ppi,the loan will be reset and you may pay more a month and the term could be extended.
Wait for the outcome of your mis sell,if you win the total ppi is taken off the loan and you get ppi paid to date,by the time this loan is nearly finished, you could have the loan paid off with the win and get the rest back to you.

    Thanks Amersall, appreciate your reply.
  • Hi

Rang FP yesterday and after waiting 1hr 20 mins got through only to be told that due to high call volumes they would ring me back  Only wanted to know if they recieved my letter of acceptance but were not prepared to say. This really is quite unacceptable and needs to be addressed. Still no call back :(

    Hi there,

Thought it was worth posting this quick update. I e-mailed the CEO of MBNA on Thursday night and had received a reply from the complaints manager by 10am yesterday promising my claim had been given priority status and that I would receive a calculation by Tuesday at the latest and a cheque thereafter!

It really is worth an e-mail and thank you all for your very good advice. Roll on Tuesday.....

As the original cheque from Barclays sent (supposedly) 9th september didn't arrive I rang them and emailed CEO. They rang me and said cheque stopped and new one issued. Cheque arrived so I have paid it in and now find it is the stopped cheque. Have now received 2 further cheques, all for the same amount. Trying to find out which one they want me to pay in. Surprisingly when I said i would pay them all in they are now trying to sort it out. Still on hold though!

Don't think they know what they are doing at all.

Hi there Can I ask when you registered your claim and when you received your offer letter?

    Thanks

Hi kaladin, congratulations on your win.

What they SHOULD be doing is refund your ppi premiums that you have paid already with interest at the loan rate, plus 8% simple interest on each payment back to when your monthly payments were made. Then they should reduce your loan by the monthly ppi amount for the remainder of the loan.
If you've had any arrears they can use the redress to pay off your arrears first, but if you've not had any arrears they should be paying you back by cheque or into your bank.

    Hope this helps:D

Arent they supposed to take the whole ppi amount off the loan and the balance reduce accordingly? :D,You were mis sold this,so the whole lot shouldnt be there,as they cannot leave it still on the loan, as this would not put the customer back into the position they would have been had the ppi not been on there.

With a week left to the 16 week deadline RBS made me an offer today of £9,135 ... to say I'm delighted is an understatement as I was only expecting £2000.
Many thanks for all the encouragement and information on this site . Will now get my credit card going and also get my family started . Thanks again ....Slainte Mhath !!!!!!
