  • I am waiting for a cheque from Nat West too - they said it would be within 28 working days of them receiving my acceptance. I sent it back on 30/8/11 but havent heard anything yet - have tried to ring them to check if they received it but the number just rings and rings and rings!!

I'm still waiting to hear from the Natwest as well. They do answer the phone eventually! I'm managed to spek to them a couple of times to confirm that they have received my acceptance letters.

It's bit strange as the first acceptance letter I sent back got paid within 5 days, but it's been 15 working days and counting for the other 5 claims!

It's been at least 15 working days now since I sent my offers letters back to the Natwest / RBS and a part from the first payment which they settled with a week I haven't heard anything and getting worried that the banks will try some skulduggery to get out of paying!! :(

I phone just to make sure that they had received all 6 of my offer letters back but I was told that they had only received 5 of them and that they would resend a copy of the letter for me to sign and send back again!

Even though I have the letters to hand stating their offers I keep thinking some how some way they will try and not pay within 28 working days!!

Anyone else had any payments from RBS recently?
We have been waiting 34 days for our cheque. Rang on friday and was promised someone from the payment team would call us back within 48hours, still nothing!!

    Hi Spurs 1970 ,
Can you tell me what was the telephone number you used for RSB on Friday ? Was it o01617557029 ? I've been trying to get through to them since last Thursday for an update on my claim but the phone is engaged every time. Thanks , Anne .

Went home at lunch time and low and behold postie brought some glad tidings!

Old Alliance and Leicester cc complaint upheld. One problem in my excitement, I have the form signed and posted on my way back to work. Am now wondering is the figures ok.. Help please......

    Total Monthly Premiums £728.13
    Interest to date £728.13
    Total Premiums + Interest £1,627.05

Now I am not for one minute trying to be greedy, but should there have been another 8% added on to this amount??

    Thankyou for all your help.

I believe cc redress for 8% is different to a loan,i could be wrong, but i think you only get 8% on a credit balance and not the whole time you paid the ppi.
Someone who knows more will post i am sure.

Hi all, ive finally had some luck but it is all a bit strange. Was originally offered 4200 pound and 2900 from black horse. I accepted both. Was told to wait 8 weeks for money, while i was on holiday i recieved a cheque for 4000, a cheque for 1800 and a cheque for 200. I then recieved a letter to say 8000 pound has been paid off my present loan account, Then i recieved a phone call yesterday to say my original cheque for 7100 is in the post!! I have no idea whats going on

Well done Dave on your successful outcome. I am waiting for my calculations from HSBC. My loan has 24 months to run with no arrears so I am expecting the loan balance to be restructured to the amount outstanding minus the PPI. It looks to me like they are creating a new loan minus the PPI and then charging you interest again which makes me so angry. The FOS says that any future repayments should be the same as would have applied if the consumer had taken the loan without PPI so the bank should not be restructuring these loans like they would for normal loans. HSBC seem to be adept at these underhand tactics. First they assume that you want to pay the loan balance with your redress. How dare they assume what you want to do with YOUR money!! Then they try to swindle you by restructuring the loan balance to give them more interest. Does anyone else think this is wrong!!!
Dave have you signed the papers already???

Yes, I have signed the new loan agreement, although there is a 14 day cancellation period built in. I have spoken to the FOS today who advise to look at their website for more info, which I plan to do tonight. They could not give me direct advice as I have not lodged a formal complaint with them, but they would be willing to take this on should I wish to do so. What they did say was to speak to the bank and take it from there, which I also intend to do, once I get through.

I really do not want to jeopardise getting my PPI money back by complaining about a possible miscalculation on the restructured loan, but as there is only a 14 cancellation period, I am concerned that the PPI refund wont come through in time, the letter did say I should expect the money in my account within 10 working days from when the new loan was restructured, so it could all depend on that.

If the money comes through soon, and the bank will not look at recalculating or at least give me a clear breakdown of how they came about these figures for the new loan, then I will lodge a complaint with the FOS but I know this could take a while to be resolved.

Will update once I speak to the bank (hopefully tomorrow).

Still overjoyed at the PPI amount and I am not being greedy in wanting the loan balance to be reduced, I just want to be sure I am treated fairly and am not giving them back something between 2 and 3000 in unnecessary repayments, all because I did not bother to challange their calculations.

    Dave
