I sent my acceptance letters back end of August, Got letters with figures last week (2 credit cards) and it said on them you no longer have to return anything. If they dont hear from you they assume you are happy with figures and mine said it will be paid into my account number that I gave them. No mention of cheques so they seem to be giving conflicting information to people.
have they given you a a time scale on time?
thanks Jody0 -

Hi All
Can any one offer any advice ? I made 2 claims for my Dad on PPI on credit cards.
Success : MBNA paid back £14k, £7k of this was 'Total amount of interest associated with the PPI Premiums'.
Failure : We also made a claim on Barclaycard (grounds of self employed and age now 68- is he still covered ?- which was a shot in the dark because we had no paperwork). We have just received reply from Barclaycard saying that 'they do not uphold the complaint' as they cover up to 70 years and self employed people.
My question is : would we be able to now go to the ombudsman and say that the Interest associated with the PPI premium is unfair, i.e, they charge approx £60 per month PPI plus interest at 1.??? %, is this acceptable and legal. Any thoughts anyone ?
Cheers

Hi Emma
Wishing you luck.
I would contact the FSCS and ask for an update, the chances are they have moved it on to Deloittes who usually looks through the cases as a standard procedures and they are waiting for them to come back to them after completion.
Give them a ring, good luck.;) xThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Deb
Maybe someone else will offer some opinions/advice on this too, but first of all Congratulations on your dad's success!
I am not sure if your dad would be any longer covered, although I would ask them to send you a copy of the booklet details of this cover if you do not have one to check, as every bank may differ.
Most I think only cover to the age of 65, maybe 60, so as soon as you know I would ask they also refund the payments he made in that time where he would not have been protected anyway.
In regards of the last issue, have you also wrote to business about the interest not being fair?
If so and they have not put this right, you can of course make a complaint, once given a final decision, so basically I would keep writing to them until your happy or until a final decision have been given.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
