PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

We had an old loan which finished some 12 months ago, when we first contacted the Bank, Lloyds TSB, they said we could not make a claim as the loan was settled so we gave up.
After reading this site we made another claim using the templates available and we have just had an offer from the bank for £6,000............
If your thinking of making a claim just do it, don't listen to what the banks say to you just go ahead and write the letters, you have absolutely nothing to loose..0 -

Im new to this forum but have been reading the posts for quite a while. I put in my claim in May for ppi on a loan thats still running. Got my upheld letter on Sept 1st and my calcs letter today. Rang customer line to see if they could pay the money direct into my ltsb account and she said because there was such a backlog with the bacs system ALL payments from now would be sent out as a cheque cos this was a quicker method at the moment. Has anyone waited for cheques and is there a timescale??0 -
I think four weeks to come up with calculations then another four weeks to pay out is rediculous. The banks are quick enough to take our money, yet drag their heels when it comes to refunding what is owed. And I don't buy this backlog baloney. They just want to torture us in revenge for getting the better of them.2018 wins: Hong Kong holiday0

How many thousands of claims do you think they have to do, patience is what is required.0 -

Patience.....? You have to be kidding, if the shoe was on the other foot do you think that a simple phone call to the bank to tell them to be patient would be considered acceptable. No I did not think so...
These banks are taking us all for a ride...first they fraudulently take this money then they drag it out once a court case orders them to return it. I am so disgusted with this whole situation...then to hear that people are defending their slow responses.. it just amazes me...:(:(:(:(:(:(:(Money Saving-Reclaiming-And Won!!!:j:j:j:j:j

Do you moan like this when in a queue at the shops?
You are NOT going to speed it up by continually moaning, it's boring!!!0 -

To give an idea of timescales :
I sent an initial letter of complaint on 8th May
I received an upheld letter dated 22nd August
I received calculations today ( letter dated 16th September).
Just waiting for the payment now. No detail given as to when the cheque will be sent, but it says to allow 21 days for my current loan (which paid off the loan which my complaint was about) to be adjusted.[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -
