PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi suarez, I'm not too sure to be honest, however, there are two ways for them to work out what you're due, one is to reconstruct your account with removing all ppi and associated interest and if you're account goes into credit, then you get 8% interest on that part. The other is to work out what your card history would be with and without the ppi and repay the difference.
Of course if they are just refunding what you are due, they may well leave it up to yourself to decide whether to pay off your card or not, but just remember, if you don't reduce it, and reduce your limit at the same time, the banks win again, as they will still get all the interest from your balance staying so high.
I hope this helps and keep us up to date on how you're getting on.:D0 -

It seems like they are settling the cc's with money direct into bank and settling loans with cheques. Has anyone actually received a cheque off LTSB yet!!!

It just basically says that they (lloyds) have investigated and they are satisfied that there were no issues with the sale and that if i'm unhappy to contact the FOS. So i'm guessing this is their final decision and contacting the FOS is the way to go.
So time to fill me out some more paperwork in time for tomorrows post!
Thanks.
Congrats on your result btw.:T0 -

I think I've had a success. LloydsTSB have deposited an amount direct into my bank account a few days ago... but I've never had any paperwork from them to confirm the amount etc. Can they do this?0

Hi, I got a rejection letter from Lloyds TSB earlier this month. A week later after finding info from the posts here and the FOS web site, I e-mailed both the CEO and customer care asking them to reconsider my case. I received a reply today saying they will investigate the issues I've raised and write within 2 weeks to confirm their position. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but if they reject the claim again i will be taking it further to the FOS, no matter how long it takes.0

Like many others today, it seems, I got my calculations from Lloyds - they are sending me £6,325.94 :j
To give an idea of timescales :
I sent an initial letter of complaint on 8th May
I received an upheld letter dated 22nd August
I received calculations today ( letter dated 16th September).
Just waiting for the payment now. No detail given as to when the cheque will be sent, but it says to allow 21 days for my current loan (which paid off the loan which my complaint was about) to be adjusted.[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -
