Good Morning All
:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:TCongratulations to all winners:T:T:T:T:T:T
Just received letter from Lloyds for Credit Card offer £10366.79 to be paid direct in to my current account
Calculations:
Difference between the actual and revised balance £10,144.13
Credit Interest at 8% per annum simple 222.66
TOTAL £10,366.79
Does this sound correct
Annual interest rate being charged on this card is 19.40%
card goes back to 1999 ( PPi cancelled 1 year ago - advised by financial adviser at the bank as my balance wasnt reducing and I didnt need it anyway!!!! ):mad: I still have a balance of £7369
I phoned them this morning and the guy said this is the amount that will be paid to my account and not to my credit card as long as I'm not over my credit card limit (which I'm not - limit is £8000) so I presume that I have to pay off my card with this payment
thanks in advance
Sorry bumping this up so it doesn't get lost in the crowds;););)0 -
Hi and welcome and well done on your successes so far!
If the other business that rejected your complaint did not state if was the final decision, you could write back and ask them to review your complaint and enclose any further info you may have.
The FOS are not able to adjudicate against a company that were not regulated, but they may suggest the underwriter/insurer avenue, give them a call anyway and see what they suggest, good luck and please let us know, cheers.;)
Thank you for your advice, which I have taken
Phoned FOS today. Indeed I cannot pursue M&S since they were not regulated in 1987 but I can pursue the underwriter, who I believe is Hamilton Insurance. They advised me to write a covering "complaint" letter about mis-selling and then send in the usual form. So that is what I plan to do. Will let you know what happens!Abbey National (Santander) Paymentcare £6,700 :T
Abbey National (Santander) Abbeyloan £1,600 :T0 -

Is it likely that Natwest will tell Key Financial Claims about the rest of my offers?0 -
Dear Forum,
I have just been on the phone to HFC. My claim went to FOS in Sept 2010. I got a letter from FOS on Sat stating that HFC has agreed to pay and that if I did not reply in 14 days it will be assumed I agreed to the payment and information will be passed onto HFC. I spoke to HFC this morning asking for time-frames. A very nice lady said once FOS informs them they pay out in 3 weeks. I called FSO and was told that due to delays in the past they do not send out forms for clients to sign and send back anymore. They assume non-response is acceptance and do spread sheets to inform banks in 14 days. I hope this helps others in similar situations. I all eke the forum updated!
Thanks for the advice, now l gjust have to wait for HFC to respond to my adjuicator0 -
Just got back off holiday to a nice cheque off HFC (beneficial) for £3100. I only sent one letter to them 11 weeks ago stating the reasons for my claim on the credit card PPI. Only LLoyds TSB, Barclaycard x 2 ( difficult this one) to go and Egg have just told me on the phone I have had another claim with them upheld and they are just calculating how much my claim will be.... I am over the moon so far and it's all down to the great advice on this website....

I put in a claim with Lloyds in May (along with other cards ) for CC PPI. I received the standard letters , then on Aug 17th an Upheld letter with an acceptance letter to return. This morning I received this :
'Further to our letter dated 10/08/2011 I would like to apologise for misleading information that this letter contained, after careful review I can confirm the following
Having checked all our relevant systems we can confirm that we have been unable to trace any PPI policies for your card account'
They have enclosed a FOS leaflet.
When I submitted the claim I did not have any paperwork but was convinced I did have PPI, I was obviously wrong.
What I can't understand is how they could have let the process go this far, surely this should have been picked up earlier.
I'm really not sure what to do, but this proves how lousy Lloyds are.

i know that they went bust so how do you go about doing this
any help will be great
If it was before 14th jan 05 then give FOS a ring and ask who you need to be claiming from, this could be the insurer.

I've just had another letter from Goldfish (Barclaycard) to say that they are rejecting my claim. In their original rejection letter in August they stated that they couldn't find any PPI on my account. I managed to find old Goldfish statements dated 2001 and 2004 clearly showing PPI payments. There answer for rejection now is:
1) I didn't take out PPI when I applied for the card
2) It was added at a later date and that the Sales Advisor went through all my other financial commitments etc and their advice would be to take out the protection. I didn't have any other financial commitments, I had a very secure job with a very good salary. My husband is self employed so no issue with him losing his job. The card was paid off in full every month. I never spoke to any Sales advisor regarding adding this to the account, why would I need to pay it.
3) They also say that I stopped paying PPI before September 2005 and therefore they don't keep records back any further than 6 years. I sent copies of both stements and if they don't keep records how could they tell me this other information.
4) I was still using the Goldfish card up to the time it was taken over by Barclaycard in 2008 and still have the Barclaycard now.
Where do I go from here?0
