sorry to put a dampener on things, but I have been wrangling with Lloyds over PPI since August, and they still havent decided yet. As I have 7 (!!) claims in with them for CC, Loans and Bank, I wanted to receive a response on them all before going further. However they've had well over their time allowed so FOS here I come ............

Dont expect anything for Christmas though - sorry!!

I got the offer of a full refund within 4 weeks from LTSB. My loan was still in force but they said they couldnt prove or disprove what was said by their staff re the PPI. They will be paying £2166 + interest into my loan account in the next 21 days. My second loan is being looked at as we speak and they will make a decision by 28 Jan 08 so its not taking that long.

    P O Box 1003
    Chester Business Park

  • Mine is for a Personnal Loan so not sure the creditcard address would be the right one to send it to would it?

The address from my original documents is:

    Alliance & Leicester
    Personal Finance Ltd
    Customer Relations Centre
    PO Box 263
    Leicester
    LE1 9PQ

However ive noticed on their site they have a new address (still in Leicester) which is:

    Alliance & Leicester plc
    Customer Service Centre
    Carlton Park
    Narborough
    Leicester
    LE19 0AL

Think ill try this one first, or if anyone can point me in the right direction id appreciate it :)
  • When I first took out a loan with Firstplus, they asked if I wanted PPI, explaining that if I didn't make a claim in the first 5 years, I would get all my PPI payments back. What they didn't explain over the phone was that it was a single payment and it was added to the original loan amount.
When I settled the loan 3 years early, I was unhappy with the amount of re-imbursement I received. At the time, Aug 2005, I was told that the sums were correct and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the loan. It had niggled me eversince.
In November this year, I decided to use Martin's template letter to see if I could get something back even though it was over 2 years since the loan was settled.
The first letter got the expected response that they were in the right and I had received the correct amount of re-imbursement. I sent off the second template letter and got a much more favouable response.
Even though they were definately not in the wrong, as a gesture of goodwill, they offered me a sum of just over £3,000.00 in addition to the sum received when the loan was settled.
This was in line with what I expected, so I accepted and am going to have a fantastic Christmas.

I would urge anyone who may think they have a grievance about PPI to use the template letters. All it cost me was 2 first class stamps and a wee bit of time.
A BIG THANK YOU TO MARTIN!!!!:T

Hey guys, It seems I got stung twice with this. PPI amount was £2430.38 in Nov 98 and £2530.44 in Nov 99.

The complaint was registered with them on Nov 29th and am awaiting a response.

Has anyone claimed from LTSB and can advise me on how long it took them to get the cash ( i am hoping for it by christmas ) or roughly how much I can expect?

I am new to this and missed the boat with bank charges so any help is greatly appreciated!

    L
just an update... and not a good one

Lloyds have called me back today and told me their final response is sod off!!

They have hoever, offered me abot £200 as the PPI should have been cancelled in april 2004 when my account went to the debt recovery team..... Not the £11078 that they owe me!!

    FOS here we come!

Wish me luck guys cos im about ready to hang myself!!
  • Just recieved a letter off Alliance & Leicester saying "Our advisor refered you to the documents to review your policy benifits & exclusions in your terms and conditions that were enclosed" now my point is that I didnt really want the insurance in the first place, I applied for the loan online without insurance but was persuaded to take it by a very pushy salesman on the phone after. Now by the reply to the letter they have just taken into consideration that they explained it but dont mention the key fact that I was pushed into it in the 1st place. Should I keep fighting here?
  • Yippee! Success! After unsuccessfully trying to reclaim my PPI payments from Alliance and Leicester since June 07, I decided to complete MSE's template as I had previously done with reclaiming bank charges (success there too) and it worked. They have offered me all my payments with interest to date. Keep at it folks you will succeed. So if you need an incentive BigCraigJohn just do it. Thank you Martin xx
