i also recieved an upheld letter on 1st august , when i phoned a week later i was told that "promptly" still meant 31st august as they were just keeping me informed! yet another lie from hfc!!
when i phoned yesterday i had noticed they were more apologetic for the delay, after keeping me on hold for a few mins i was told my letter was produced this morning and i would recieve it up to 7 days later, i had a moan about waiting since january and it should not take a week to get a letter in the post, they could not tell me what was in the letter and could not put me through to anybody who could so i have told them i will give them 3 days and then i will phone them all day everyday! i will also email the boss as i did get a call from him last time i had a moan.
good to hear that many have now had refunds! enjoy spending it!

    Aha!

Glad to hear my friend is not the only one with "promptly" then!

Whats the betting that even when the letter with the amounts comes aqlong, it'll be another 8 weeks to actually make payment?

I got back home yesterday to find a letter from LLoyds upholding my complaint yippee! I was very surprised as I had spoken to them last Thursday and was told no decision had been made and I should hear this week as my 16 weeks were up today. The letter was dated the 22nd though! I just need to confirm that the uphold is for both of my loans as they were both put under one reference but the acceptance only lists one loan number. Am so pleased and grateful for all the excellent information and advice given on this site.

    Thank you

    Congratulations lula :j:jxx

Think thats happening with Natwest tifosi , my oh had his claim upheld over a month ago, he was told over the phone by Natwest staff & he still hasn't received anything...he has rang, i have sent dozens of emails & all we get is that they are calculating the amount....heck, i would say my 4 yr old could do it in the amount of time they have had:mad::mad:, so i would say they will prob send a letter then take ANOTHER 8 weeks to pay out:mad::mad:. I know its great its upheld but you just want it so other bills can be paid off!! AARRGGHH!!...rant over!!:j:jxx

hi all just been reading this on the guardian website, lets see if it happens:eek:

The six banks – HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group, Royal Bank of Scotland, the Co-operative Bank and Egg – were granted the temporary extension by the FSA to ensure their backlogs of complaints were handled properly.
Many firms had decided to put some or all of their PPI cases on hold when the banking industry mounted a legal challenge to the FSA's new complaint handling measures. The banks abandoned their challenge in May, opening the way for millions of people to receive compensation totalling billions of pounds.
It is understood that the banks were supposed to send out letters telling people whether their complaints had been upheld or not, and, in the case of those individuals who were successful, at the very least provide information about how much money they were likely to receive. The redress is typically taking the form of a refund of premiums paid plus interest.
HSBC has been sending out these "decision letters", but some have not contained all the necessary information about redress.
In a statement to the Guardian, a bank spokesman said: "Over the past 12 weeks we have been in weekly contact with the FSA over our processing of customer PPI complaints. We have already written to all customers whose complaints were on hold due to the judicial review with a decision on their complaint, and will have communicated the final redress amount to all customers with an upheld complaint by the end of this week

In addition to my other comment about this above, I have to say -

Since when did the Co Operative feature in the 16 week extensions?

In the FSA article here they detail; extensions for Lloyds banking group, Barclays and RBS

They then went on to grant the extension to HSBC as well (only "fair" I s'pose as they aslo took part in the unlawful Judicial Review hold on complaints)

But at no point have Co Op been granted the same, and there appear to be far too many finance companies attempting to claim they are part of this extension

Egg are obviously covered by the above extensions (for credit cards ONLY as I see it) as their credit card business now belongs to Barclays

Though obviously we cant complain about Egg loans as I think most people have found them quite prompt (around 6 weeks seems to be Eggs average)

I have just sent an email to Clydsdale this morning, as i complained & they returned my email to say they have 8 weeks to reply. I read on here last week that someone said CB are not in the 8 week extension, so i have put this in my email, so i will await for my responding email today & let you know what is said. Here is my email i sent:

    Good Morning Carol,

Are there any further developments with regards to my claim please?

I am aware that you expressed that it could take up to 8 weeks, but i have been informed that your company were not involved/granted the 8 weeks extension governed by the FSA. However, with this in mind, i am also aware that your company will be under additional work load pressure and i appreciate you time in rectifying my complaint.

    Kind Regards

We will see what thet say:):)xx
