Dizzywithmoney wrote: »It actually says at the bottom of the letter "Please be advised on receipt of your signed Acceptance form your refund will be processed within 6 to 8 weeks". Which is quite annoying really as I thought they all had to be settled, and paid out by, the 31st August!!
I will let you know when we receive it.
Thank you for that, I hope you get paid sooner rather than later, I will post when I get my final response. I'm glad you won against Firstplus0 -

I haven't been made an offer yet, only had word that they have agreed to repay all the PPI on two loans and one credit card.
I can give details on the my big loan if someone would be kind enough to work roughly what I might get back? The details are as follows;
Loan agreement date: 17/2/06
Loan period: 84 months
Loan amount: £15,000
Interest on loan: £4,994.52
PPI amount: £6,385.50
Interest on PPI: £2,125.39
Monthly repayment: £339.35
The monthy repayment can be split as follows;
Loan capital repaid: £178.57
Loan interest repaid: £59.46
PPI repaid: £76.02
PPI interest repaid: £25.30
So the monthy repayments I made included £101.32 worth of PPI and interest.
I settled the loan at the end of March 2009, I think I made 34 payments as HBOS give you a three month holiday at the start of the loan. I called the HBOS loans helpline yesterday and was advised my settlement figure was £12,804.86 which included a PPI rebate of £1,850.38.
If anyone can have a go at working out what my entitlement approximately might be I would be most grateful!
34 x £101.32 = £3444.88
8% = £1090.88
PPI loan refund = £1090.24 (£6385.5 - £3444.88 - £1850.38)
8% interest £11.36
Total £5637.36

Hi,
Got a rejection letter from Santander about misselling complaint I put in, store card was opened in 1993, when I was 19. The card limit was £240.
However due to the length of time thay say they can't find original documentation.
My complaint was the I didn't realise it was optional (I didn't really elaborate further, totally my fault and coupled with the fact they are not mind readers) although now I realise this has made it appear as if were asked about PPI which I definately wasn't. In hindsight I should have expanded ie that although I seen it on statement I thought this was complusary and that it came automatically with card. I got template letter from Which.
Because of my stupidity they have rejected on the following:-
Process they had in place was made clear that it was not compulsary and it was appears it was made clear to me and that I elected to take insurance.
policy summary etc sent out, 30 days to cool off and that this time would let me compare policies with other companies.
In relation to sales process there was no requirement for them to record sales process and so they have no way off knowing what took place, but if I had could have complained at that time if i was unhappy with sales process.
I just remember being asked in topshop if wanted to aply for a topshop budget card (no longer in use)being asked the usual questions and then being asked to sign. I don't remember ticking/crossing any boxes, am I deluding myself that I have vailid complaint?
Is there any way I can redress this?0 -
34 x £101.32 = £3444.88
8% = £1090.88
PPI loan refund = £1090.24 (£6385.5 - £3444.88 - £1850.38)
8% interest £11.36
Total £5637.36

Thank you so much for taking time out your day to do that for me.
There is nothing worse than someone asking for help then questioning your answer but could I clarify the following;
- Should the PPI loan refund of £1090.24 (£6385.5 - £3444.88 - £1850.38) not be as follows; £1950.44 (£6385.5 - £2584.68 - £1850.38) as the £3444.88 included the PPI loan interest which isn't included on the PPI loan of £6385.50.
- How is the £11.36 interest calculated at the end.
No rush in coming back to me Niggly, and I do apologise for asking more questions!!!

Thanks for the guidance on here- very useful!

Hi there
So sorry your being messed around, unfortunately many have had hassle when using claims companies, which is why we do not normally suggest them on here, but you could maybe contact the main complaint section of the Claims Regulation, and explain your situation with them, see what they suggest.

Along with many, I got a letter from LloydsTSB saying that they would be settling my PPI claim.
I had a loan I took out in 2002 and which I missed 2 payments on in 2005 and then was settled by taking out a new (current) loan ( without PPI) in 2005 and on which no payments have been missed.
I just wondered if they could use the PPI repayment amount to reduce the current loan ? I would prefer that they didn't. On the acceptance form I signed & sent back, I ticked the box to say that I did not want the repayment to appy to any arrears, but I'm fretting a bit that they could apply it to the current loan.
Thanks for any help / advice
Hi there
In regards of my own experience with Lloyds, on the settled loans, they refunded the redress back to me, and on the open loan, they did use the refund towards this account, but the interest is directly paid back to you.
I would maybe email them and say you understand on the settled loans (that were paid off and closed) you will receive the compensation, as you have already been deprived of your money.

Hi Gill
Well done on your success.:beer:
To me that is like paying for the ppi all over again, tell them you will be contacting the FSA (the regulator) as this is not right, its like being paid in one hand and taken out of the other by them including the amount of the ppi in with the loan balance settlement, in my opinion no its wrong.
What they should be doing is reducing the monthly repayments, by removing the ppi, which should be refunded directly to you.
The FSA will not allow those rules. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
