It's not necessarily about who shouts the loudest, it's more to me about getting your point across correctly, I explained that I felt that as the CB/YB weren't one of the one's that had been holding up complaints because of the JR I would've hoped that we would've heard sooner, and as I said in the previous post, knowing that if you go to FOS costs them and at this point you don't want to do that, shows you're willing to reason.

    Hope this helps.:D
hi I have followed your advice and sent another email explaining what you have said about fos hopefully they respond to that i will let you know if we get anything back thanks dave

    Hi
I'm new to all this but i put a claim in with G E capital back in May last year they didnt think they should pay out due towhen i took the Burtons store card out they said they wasnt under the FSCS so they wouldnt pay out.I them sent my complaint to FINANCIAL OMB but i havent had any joy back they say when i rang a few weeks ago that but they will be dealing with it shortly as there is a back log!!!
They said that as i had taken it out when they wasnt covered they was going for the broker instead but i still had the card running up until 3 years ago when i paid it all off!!

I received a letter out of the blue at the start of August from the Clydesdale Bank saying they had been "reviewing the position regarding your borrowing and have concluded that this insurance was not suitable for you". This was without having submitted any claims ! I rang them to ask them about it and they stated that I would hear within 8 weeks as they only had 8 weeks in which to respond and that they were unable to tell me which loans were being investigated or why it had been deemed "not suitable" for me !

Has anyone else received a letter from their bank without having made any claims ?

    Hi there

This is something on cards that the FSA wants banks to do, some I believe have made a start, and glad they have automatically contact you, as some would not even know if they've been mis sold, they still say to customers though do not wait for them to write to you, if you think you have a case then pursue them, in your case though you don't have to do that.
    Good luck on your reclaiming.;)

Me again, forgot to say,as soon as i hear how much i will post on here.

    will keep all informed,
just sent back to Santander,as they have sent my SAR back with £10 cheque, ignoring it saying account numbers required,

So have sent it back stating thats why i want all my info, just waiting to see what happens now.

Sent a SAR to HFC a couple of weeks ago, still heard nothing yet, does anyone know how long it usually takes them please???

    Thanks all

    Hi Trish

They are entitled to 40 calendar days, keep an eye on your bank account, to check when they debit the payment.

How long ago did you send the SAR?;)

Hi Congratulations to all who have been successful. I was wondering, of those people that have won, what was the reason you gave for why you felt your PPI was mis-sold? It seems that those who were self employed have had the most success.
In my case, my husband took out a Barclaycard and visa card in 2001. We have all the statements, but not the original agreement. We dont remember discussing PPI or signing for it, but had no need for it as my husband is sufficiently covered for sickness etc with his line of employment. I have submitted our claim at the beginning of August, stating that no-one discussed the options regarding PPI, and that I dont recall signing for it. Although the payment appeared on my statements I just thought it was compulsary in order to have the credit cards and didnt really question it until a couple of years ago. Do you think we have much chance of being successful?

    Hiya

What this means is that at the time you taken out the they would have had to have been covered then by the FSA etc.
Many of us have been in the same situation, as some business were not regulated at the time, and most of them did not become regulated until from the 14 Jan 2005.
However, the FOS will normally suggest the underwriter/insurer avenue instead as these would have to be regulated.
I would contact them about this direction good luck.;)

    Hi there

You have just as much chance as anyone.

Everyones personal circumstances differ as well, in my case I was sold PPI and only receiving the children's benefits. That was some years ago though.
Good luck on yours and keep at them x;)

Hi i think most of us at some time thought it was part and parcel of the agreement,i certainly did,i was'nt even asked, and even tho i have suffered with a chronic illness for about 37 years and was self employed, still never challenged it,because i thought it was part and parcel of acc agreement, all my family are now pursuing theirs, because the same as myself they feel they were definatley mis-sold,as my daughter for one was never asked if she required it,in fact she did not even realise it was on there,i think on some statements it his so craftily entered between last purchase and interest, you don't sort of notice it.
so you go for it,banks have had there own way for too long a period ,its about time we all called time on them.

Good luck, and with plenty of guidance from here on this site,i am sure you will be ok

    Hi

I really dont believe that they will settle all claims by the 31st august. Phoned them yesterday and he told me that my ppi refund had been calculated on the 10th august but ive had no letter as yet, also said they would pay out within a couple of days of sending the agreement back!! It's just a waiting game im afraid :(:(:(

Hi Laura, just wondered if you ever recived the offer letter they said they had done on the 10th August.

I rang them today and they said that they had sent me an offer letter on the 9th August, but I haven't received it. They are posting another one tomorrow.
