when did you put your claim in as i put mine in 25 oct last year and the the 31st is 12 days away and i have heard nothing, i dont think they will complete all the claims in time.;)

Email the CEO, they've had more than ample time now.
Good luck, tell them you are considering contacting the FSA, it may help them move a little quicker, fingers crossed.;)

Hi Di i phoned FSA yesterday and placed a complaint they said to me the same as you have theye have had plenty of time and this should have been sorted now, also that the complaint is just taken as you are one of 200 who have complained about RBS. i have also emailed the CEO and got the generic responce that this has been handed to their PPI team based in manchester, i have asked to speak to their line manager but he always seems to away from his desk, i am stumped now:mad:

There are alot of requests coming through re calcs. I have to work out most by hand and then run the 8% spreadsheet. Would it not be more helpful if we had a seperate sticky where people could post these. I am happy to do the calculations for loans but the ppi on Credit cards is too complex. What does the mod think of setting a sticky up re calculations

For those posted today and I havent answered I will get around to them by the end of the weekend.

    Thanks N

I agree with Niggly re: the above and starting a specific Calcs thread.

1 - I think the requests are becoming quite opportunistic - and forgive me for saying but I don't believe a lot of people even TRY to work out their own figures, ie: by all means check figures when you have been offered figures - BUT as Niggly points out, these calculations take a ton of time. Incredibly kind of him to do them at all.

2 - The frequent very individual postings about specific calculations are not necessarily as helpful as other postings about timings, what to do when XYZ happens etc - in my view they clog up the board quite significantly and make it hard to get more general information. I've found myself skimming through pages just to get to one piece of useful information.

Therefore a separate CALCS THREAD would be a far better way to organise this.

    Only my opinion folks!!

    Yes me too.
Could be worth putting in a request with one of the MSE team, such as MSE Helen and ask for a Sticky thread on this one.;)
And of course if anyone good with calcs can chip in as well.

    Hi,

    yes, I'd agree with this

I have tried to assist with the calcs but I'm not so adept at the complex credit card calculations

I do think some are far too inclined to rely on niggly without attempting to look around the net for assistance in how to work out their own calculations

  • Hi
I recently advised that Barclays had agreed to repay my PPI of £12,305. This was in the form of a letter dated 3rd August which had an Acceptance form attached. I duly signed and returned the form straight back to their Relations Centre in Leicester. I then phoned them last Monday (15th) and was told that they had received the form and they would make a payment within the next 4-5 working days time.

    Guess what .....

Still no money in my account. So I have just spent the past hour on hold waiting for someone to answer. When they finally did answer and confirmed that my acceptance letter had been scanned into their system on 9th August they have until 31 August to settle the claim. I asked him to confirm that a payment would be made to my account by 31st and his words "We have to settle all claims and close the cases by 31st August". My interpretation of that is that Barclays will have to have paid out on all successful claims by 31st August.

Has anyone else had similar calls with them?

Good grief, the bank payment systems are obviously going to grind to a halt on 31st August

Think that Bank Holiday weekend could be a bumper one for retailers!
