    Hi
I recently advised that Barclays had agreed to repay my PPI of £12,305. This was in the form of a letter dated 3rd August which had an Acceptance form attached. I duly signed and returned the form straight back to their Relations Centre in Leicester. I then phoned them last Monday (15th) and was told that they had received the form and they would make a payment within the next 4-5 working days time.

    Guess what .....

Still no money in my account. So I have just spent the past hour on hold waiting for someone to answer. When they finally did answer and confirmed that my acceptance letter had been scanned into their system on 9th August they have until 31 August to settle the claim. I asked him to confirm that a payment would be made to my account by 31st and his words "We have to settle all claims and close the cases by 31st August". My interpretation of that is that Barclays will have to have paid out on all successful claims by 31st August.

Has anyone else had similar calls with them?

    Hi

I really dont believe that they will settle all claims by the 31st august. Phoned them yesterday and he told me that my ppi refund had been calculated on the 10th august but ive had no letter as yet, also said they would pay out within a couple of days of sending the agreement back!! It's just a waiting game im afraid :(:(:(

Got fed up with waiting and was due a reply today so phoned MBNA who said cheque for £2,480 was authorised yesterday :rotfl:this was for old credit card going back to c2002 and then paid off a few years back. I completed online form and they asked no further questions - easy!

Submitted late June and had a couple of holding letters.

Spend hours on here picking up tips so a big thank you to all who contribute.

I have an o/s complaint on an MBNA loan but they are not taking any calls as they are trying to catch up.

    Happy days

    Hi everyone.

I'm sorry for sounding a little thick but if my complaint has been upheld but i'm still paying the loan. Do they refund what i have already paid and then cancel it from what is outstanding to lower the monthly amount or do they just knock it off what it is outstanding. I'm a little confused reading some of the posts :-)

    Hi,

the amount you have already paid should be refunded to you, plus 8% interest per year

Then the remaining PPI premiums yet to come should be knocked off your upcoming loan payments (so say the standard loan payment is £160/month and PPI payment is £20/month you should now only pay £160/month instead of £180/month)

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

  • Hi, after accepting an offer from Northern Rock on 18th June, we finally received the money in the bank today.

It was due 18th July and I have had to call every week since to chase it.

Bizarrely - it is £500 more than in the settlement offer - just another example of their ineptitude. I presume they might ask for it back, or maybe they got the calculations wrong.

Still - got £5200 back so my OH is over the moon.

The remaining part of the loan is now £860 over 10 months - they have had to set up and cancel no less than 3 new loans to get the amount right - however they have not written to us with the latest account number or when its due.

PPI claims in with RBS, Lombard, and Natwest - so will have to wait and see what happens with those.

Thanks again for all the support on MSE - a great day indeed!:j
