    Hi, after accepting an offer from Northern Rock on 18th June, we finally received the money in the bank today.

    It was due 18th July and I have had to call every week since to chase it.

    Bizarrely - it is £500 more than in the settlement offer - just another example of their ineptitude. I presume they might ask for it back, or maybe they got the calculations wrong.

    Still - got £5200 back so my OH is over the moon.

    The remaining part of the loan is now £860 over 10 months - they have had to set up and cancel no less than 3 new loans to get the amount right - however they have not written to us with the latest account number or when its due.

    PPI claims in with RBS, Lombard, and Natwest - so will have to wait and see what happens with those.

    Thanks again for all the support on MSE - a great day indeed!:j

    :rotfl::j:beer: CONGRATULATIONS :beer::j:rotfl:

    Great news and best of luck with the others ;)

    What were the reasons for not upholding,and was this a loan or a credit card?.
    Basically the reason they gave was I ticked the box back when I took out the credit card therefore I agreed to the PPi.I applied by post therefore I was never given any face-to-face advice etc.
    Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
  • Came on to get some inspiration and so pleased to hear off all your successes on here!
    I am still waiting to hear from HSBC on 4 claims (been in since September 2010!!). Is anyone else in the same boat or has anyone actually heard anything back from them?
    I am going through a PPI claims company (stupid, I know, and a long story for another time!!) and have phoned them regularly since the outcome of the courtcase, but all they say is that they are waiting to hear back and HSBC has got until 31st August.
    I am feeling increasingly frustrated and hate being 'inert' over the whole thing! Is there anything I can do?
    I have only got an address to write to for HSBC, does anyone have a phone number or an e-mail address?
    Thanks in advance peeps.
