    Thanks for letting me know.

Barclays have been charging me £10.50 for 14 years on each of my two Additions account and also on my business account too (4yrs).

Only this week I have found out Barclays charged me PPI on my business loan without telling me.

MBNA also charged me PPI from 1997-2001 which is when I stopped it when I found out I was being charged for it.

I have lodged claims with both this week thanks to this forum, I just cannot understand the cheek! :naughty:

    Hiya...
I've just seen your post with regards to the barclays additions accounts which I also held for several years and had to pay a fixed payment to use, did this payment include an insurance premium then? I've just tried to find it online but can't see if it does say it includes it
    Thankyou

Well I'm so glad to hear you are complaining about these, good on you and fingers crossed, its a lot of money, and the interest adds up as well.;)

Fingers crossed it is a nice amount.

I have tried using the calculators to try and work out what I might get back, but I no good at numbers, hence Barclays and MBNA taking the mickey;)

If anyone could work it out for me would be great.:o

My MBNA was from 1997-2001 I think the APR was about 23% and my balance averaged £2500. I think I paid about £28 a month

Barclays have charged me £10.50 for the last 14 years on each of My additions account.

The business Loan was for £5000, I was paying £260 per month for 8 months then the loan was paid off in full

This site is fantastic, I have my whole family working throught their old loans, current accounts and credit cards.
    Mortgage Feb 2015 £178,500 END 2043!!

When you look on your statement it should say account fee which is the cost for having an additions account, but I have also been charged a separate fee on a monthly basis as an overdraft protection fee which is the PPI.

hi im new on here is there any success claims with yorkshire bank and aviva insurance i am thinking of making a claim for ppi which has been running since 2008 and is still active i have never made a claim but due to having an operation i was off work so i decided to claim i could not believe the imformation they wanted on the claims form i never went ahead with this so thats what make me think the policy that has 2 years to go is not for me and the said bank was
Elizabeth, here are the details for Yorkshire Bank for your reclaim, if this is on a loan, do not cancel as you'll get very little rebate for your ppi, however, if you complain about the mis-sell it should work out better, some of the more experienced members will tell you what you're due.
Fill in your FOS Consumer Questionnaire with as much information and reason's for mis-sell, keep a copy and send to the address below.
    Clydesdale/Yorkshire Bank,
    PPI Team,
    2nd Floor, Royal Exchange House,
    100 Queen Street,
    Glasgow

    Tel: 0141 958 9231
    Fax No: 0141 242 4708

Good luck and keep us posted, I'm sure someone else with post details of Aviva.:D
Thanks to all the competition posters.

This is dated 4th dec 2003 when the loan was paid in full
I hope this may help as we have no idea!!

    LOAN 1 STARTED 21/02/2001

    Premiums paid for 2 months @ £19.34 = £38.68
    Feb 2001 to August 2011 is 10 years 6 months (126 months)
    £19.34 x 8%/12 x 126 = £16.25
    £19.34 x 8%/12 x 125 = £16.12

    Loan + Interest + Insurance + interest = £4951.68 total charged less rebate of £867.40 is £4084.28
£4000 was original loan and carried forward to next loan £84.28 were charges. Part of this will have been PPI. The insurance is 10% of total loan so can only assume that 10 % is ppi so assume ppi carried into next loan was £8.43
    £8.43 x 8%/12 x 124 = £6.97

    Loan 1 = £86.45

    LOAN 2 CONSOLIDATING LOAN 1 STARTED 06/04/2001

    Premiums paid for 2 months @ £33.33 = £66.66
    April 2001 to August 2011 is 10 years 4 months (124 months)
    £33.33 x 8%/12 x 124 = £27.55
    £33.33 x 8%/12 x 123= £27.33

    Loan + Interest + Insurance + interest = £9966.60 total charged less rebate of £2420.34 is £7546.26
£7377.96 was original loan and carried forward to next loan £168.30 were charges. Part of this will have been PPI. The insurance is 12% of total loan so can only assume that 10 % is ppi so assume ppi carried into next loan was £20.20
    £20.20 x 8%/12 x 122 = £16.43

    Loan 2 =£158.17

    LOAN 3 CONSOLIDATING LOAN 2 STARTED 11/06/2001

    Premiums payable for 8 months
    £36.30 x 8 = £290.40
June 2001 to August 2011 is 122 months
    8% simple interest on 8 payments = £229.42

Total loan is £13364.16 less rebate 10508.98 less original loan £9269.41. £1239.57 c/fwd. PPI 13% SO PPI c/fwd is £161.14
    £161.14 x 8%/12 x 113 (9years 5 months) = £121.39

    Loan 3 £802.35

    LOAN 4 CONSOLIDATING LOAN 3 STARTED 01/03/2002

    Premiums paid 3 months £163.20
    March 02 to August 2011 9 years 6months 114 months
    8% = £124.03
Assume rebate plus interest is £250

    Loan 4 is £537.23

    Premiums £55.51 x 6 payments £333.06
    June 02 to Aug 2011 = 110 months @8% £240.91
    Insurance £3398.81 - £2104.98 rebate 12/03 £1293.83
    Interest on PPI £1293.83 X 8%/12 X 92 MONTHS = £793.04

    Loan 5 is £2660.84

    Loan 1 = £86.45
    Loan 2 =£158.17
    Loan 3 £802.35
    Loan 4 is £537.23
    Loan 5 IS £2660.84

    Total is £4245

Niggly please could kindly work out what I might be entitled to.

The £260 I paid to Barclays was my monthly payment which included PPI.:)

UPDATE I just found a document saying business loan insurance.

According to it I paid a one off premium at the start date I have no idea how much .

Early termination will result in a percentage back, so I assume I must have had a refund which could be either 56% or 25%.

    What a nightmare!!!
