  • Hi There.
I made a reclaim on my ppi fom Yorkshire Bank using Martins template letter on the grounds that it had been missold to me on account of me being self employed.
The bank rejected my claim, but on the intervention from the financial ombudsman the bank decided to repay all my premium plus 8% interest £1338.
A hard slog but well worth it,hats off to Martin.:T

Hi I was wondering if anyone has been trying to reclaim PPI from Sainsburys. I have sent off two letters now the first one was on the 6th November and still havent had any acknowledgement from them.

Do they normally ignore your letters and can I contact the FOS after eight weeks if I havent received any acknowledgement from Sainsburys.

I too am trying to get monies back from Sainsburys. They wrote back to me quite sharply although our arguments have been ongoing for a year now! Ths has been with the FOS since May.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • Hi

I have a 20k loan from egg and have cancelled the ppi that was taken out about a year ago. I complained using the two templates earlier this year to try and reclaim my 1500 worth of ppi back that was added onto the load at the beginning. Egg sent back letters advising I had signed their terms and conditions and had an opportunity to cancel etc, therefore it was not missold.

Now that Egg have been found out for misselling, Can you advise if I can try and complain again if the 1st complaint fails? They also put a 6 month time limit for me to complain to the FSO, is this allowed?

Egg were fined for telephone sales between January, 2005 and December, 2007. If your complaint lies within those dates and was a telephone sale then maybe you can send them another letter and state your complaint again. Don't give up without a fight.
  • Hi, I have now sent off another letter for my partners egg ppi, have had a standard 'looking into it' letter back, but am hopeful after their fine this week, good luck and i will let you know how i get on.
  • Can anyone help?? I'm claiming back 3 PPI's from Wellcome Finance( with the FOS since June 08). He doesn't seem to be able to help and although I'm in financial hardship the FOS ignores my phone calls. I don't know what else to do. The PPI's were taken out in 2003/2004.
I also need to find out who Loanlink(Nemo finance) are regulated by.
  • Got home tonight- had a letter from Egg:

'Thanks for your letter, blah blah blah, After carrying out a review I have arranged for a full refund of all card repayment protection charged to your account, together with associated interest.'

    Total amount is £1364!!!!!!!!!!! (6.66% interest) :j

They also refunded £1529 in June as their PPI isn't functional in defaults (i'm in a CCCS plan)!

Brilliant, just Lloyds to sort out now.....!!

This was shortly after the 2nd letter sent ~1 month ago (1st sent in Summer)! :)

really i had a letter after a week saying il get a full refund,
    whats an internal complaint?
  • Just has a letter to say my claim has been upheld (after one letter and 6 weeks!) Very happy obviously. They have said in the letter that to avoid any lengthy process they will be refunding me the amount of the PPI back. I phoned the person who gave the loan (I used a broker to buy the loan and PPI) and they said the PPI amount was £5950. They also said I had not paid any interest on this. It was a single premium policy. Does this sound right, that the PPI was effectively an interest free loan? Also, do they have to refund 8% stat interest as well as the letter indicates they will pay back only the PPI amount minus any rebate (which was zero).
