Hey all, came home from some Xmas shopping this morning to find a letter from the FOS in response to my hardship claim. It said (drumroll please), "I write to acknoledge safe receipt of your correspondence dated 9th Dec". And that was it!
This has been going on since May and I'm bored of them now!!! wish they would just hurry up and make a decision. In fact, if I could have anything for Xmas, it would be that.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

It is so annoying when all they do is "your comments have been noted".
I hope you get another before christmas actually doing something about it.0 -

Anyway if you are making another complaint (a fresh one now!!)
Just take a look at the link here and see what you can add and delete from the template letter. Its always best to do your own from this. There are lots of reason on there for the misselling so pick out the ones that are applicable to yours.
You then write to the firm that actually made the sale of the PPI to you if this is different from the lender and don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you always a proof and dates etc.
After that you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. In this time it is usual to get a response of "sorry we sold this to you fairly" but you then respond to this and reiterate your complaint again. The next time they write they either give you a final response which you would need in order to take this complaint to the FOS or offer to settle.

Hi just wondering if anyone was having prolems with A/L, I spoke to them on 30/10/08 regarding my PPI complaint after reading Martin's article.
They gave me a case number and also sent a letter stating that I sould get a reply soon. I called them this morning to find out if there was any updates all they can tell me is that they are still looking into it and they have eight weeks to resolve my complaint and also if it was not resolved I was well within my rights to contact FOS.

Hi there
Well I do hope you hear earlier, but know in these it will be that of the full 8 weeks that they are entitled to.;)
If you have not heard say by 2 days before Xmas, get a Financial complaint form prepared just in case, fingers crossed you will hear before that.
I have not had any dealings with these myself and am sure others will post on these later for you.
You can either ring the FOS for a hardcopy of the complaint form over the phone where they will post within the first week of requesting this, or you can download on their website here:

Good luck.;)
