    Hi all,
I posted here about 3 weeks ago with regard to my claim against LLoyds TSB mis selling me PPI on a Credit Card ( which was upheld ). Still no cheque, no replies to emails I have sent enquiring about same.
Anyway, I phoned them this morning, ( politely I may add :rotfl:), asking them why I had not yet received what is mine, and they apologised, claiming some cheque repayments had been put on hold because of the vast volumes. Not a great reply really in today's computerised environment.
I have asked them to send me payment automatically to my bank account ( VIA CHAPS or BACS ) to get around this to which they have agreed - payment should be in my account in the next few days. For those, like myself waiting for your payment, phone the following & ask for Electronic Payment to your Bank Account. Could this be a ply I wonder to earn the extra interest on our money??

Best of luck to all waiting on outcomes & congrats to those waiting payment! Alan

    Hi!

Rang Nationwide today re: loan PPI as the 8 weeks time limit they had was up and I had not received a reply. Lady I spoke to told me that a letter was on it's way to me but the complaint has not been upheld.:( She said the letter will explain why and to ring back after reading it if I wanted a fuller explanation. So disappointed.

We have got paperwork to say the PPI was optional but the loan was applied for on the phone and as far as I can remember we were only given the repayment figure which included the PPI figure. I know at the time we really needed the loan and basically accepted the repayment figure in order to get the loan and didn't question the cost of the PPI. Didn't need the PPI because we had other cover. The loan acceptance which we had to sign does say the PPI is optional and if we don't want it return it and basically start again (no box to tick to opt out). At the time I think we just thought if we don't accept we might not get the loan if we had to start again....IYKWIM.
I know you probably can't give me any advice until I get the letter giving the full reasons why they havn't upheld but need to know whether you think there's any point ringing them tomorrow when I get the letter or whether the fact the paperwork says it's optional means that's it.

Anyone had their Nationwide loan upheld?

Was so hoping this would be upheld. Thanks for any advice!

They upheld mine within 4 weeks at the end of June in relation to a loan which I took out with them in 2005.

In my letter I told them I thought I had been missold as at no point was I advised that the cover could be purchased from another provider, nor was I asked if I had the means to make the repayments should I have been off sick or made redundant (which I did)

Not sure on what grounds you claimed you were missold, but they agreed to refund mine?

Sorry to hear it's not going too well so far, fingers crossed it works out in the end

"My name is Ma****** and I am a Case Manager in the complaints department. Mr O’Doherty has asked that I investigate M**** complaint as it falls within my area of responsibility. I will issue a response in the next 7 working days. In the meantime please do not hesitate to contact me using the details below"

I have emailed back saying that this is not good enough, they've given me the timeframe and i've HAD TO adhere to it, so why aren't they, other people have got paid (Well done to them btw) so why can't I??

again not bitter about other peoples complaints, just brassed off that they're not doing what they said that they would do.
  • I originally applied to HBOS a year ago using MSE questionnaire & although received an acknowledgement, they were unable to respond within the necessary number of days. I then took it up with the Financial Ombudsman, but due to the backlog they have I've yet to be even allocated an advisor. Suffice to say, HBOS eventually wrote to me and agreed to backdate all payments plus interest to when I was advised to take out the policies. I've since received almost £8k (March).:D

So, can't say I was that impressed with the FO, but for once the Bank did the right thing.

To anyone else considering it, I didn't know anything til I started subscribing to MSE, and if you don't ask, you don't get. You've nothing to lose!!

hey Lynk - i called cassandra today as im going awayt to get PP - i pust say i am impressed told me if i am able to get a call from where i am going i can always reverse the charges to her she will accept to give me present position.

She has passed to ppi team to gather info but will keep hold as she wants to ensure this matter is settled . gave her number for where i will be staying she even asked me time difference and said she will give me a call - so when i get back will let u know.

Hi Rae, hope you had a great holiday.

Any joy with Barclaycard. Am afraid I've had absolutely no joy!! The was lovely, now not so lovely, Cassie was supposed to call me back last Wednesday to update me, she didn't!!
I rang them on Friday and again on Monday and am currently holding now for 15 mins on the phone for them.
Might have to email the CEO again, really not on, first they tell me lies, then they promise this and that and don't deliver.
    NOT IMPRESSED:mad:

On another note I emailed Santander complaints dept 2 wks ago (after reading on here how successful other people were just by sending an email) regarding a finance agreement I had with First National which they now own, which the sales rep made me take PPI on. As yet I've hadn't even had an acknowledgement that they've recieved my complaint. This one is a real bug bearer with me as I know I paid around 1k on ppi on this. What should I do next??

No news from M&S now been waiting since end of May. The letter dated 16th June from them said they have 16 wks, I thought it was only the main banks that had been extended to 16 weeks.

No news from RBS, only the standard 16 week letter received from them mid June.

Got an acknowledgement today from the FOS regarding my D. Perkins storecard. Will be 4 weeks before they even get looking at it!

Good luck to everyone else for the rest of the week.

ps ; am still on hold at B/card almost 30mins now!!!!:mad:

Hi jolfc, halifax credit card payouts yeah!! We put complaint in over phone mid may and are still waiting to hear what they say! You are giving us hope!
Can i ask if you had ticked a box for the ppi. The copy of agreement they sent us says we asked for ppi and my oh has signed the bottom of the page. We dont remember ever asking for it but hes signed it so dont have much hope. My oh job terms etc were so good we realise now we would never have been able to claim on the policy.

mine was on my loan originally taken out in 1999, but i work for the council so had adequate cover for sickness due to sick pay and i am in the pension scheme should i have had to have retired due to ill health, i did my application in branch and to be honest dont know if i ticked a box or not, hope this helps and good luck, :)
