They're probably all trying to get through to HMRC ;)
  • Hiya! i had the exact same problem, and the same excuses given. when it got to the 8 week stage i emailed the CEO and explained they had gone over the 56 day rule as per their website and FOS guidelines. i got an emails back within an hour and have now promised to have it full investigated within 7 days! today is the 6th day so im hopeing for a response on Monday....as the saying goes 'no news is good news' :p

    Hi,

    Congrats!

How long had you O/H had the card?

He had the card from 2003 - 2007.

Have they actually paid out (to the card) or told you 8 weeks to pay?

They haven't paid out yet - however, the balance will go to paying off the outstanding MINT amount on his DMP. He is going to give them a call tonight, asking for a calculation breakdown. Given the huge flurry in PPI complaints, it'll probably take them a few weeks to sort it out (NRAM quoted 6 weeks).

    Thanks for that,

Do I just simply put down the history of contact including dates and explain that it gone well over the 8wks period set by themselves and the FOS?

    Hi,

(sorry, missed the timeline - d'oh!)

I'm afraid they are now allowed 8 weeks to calculate and py up

I had mmy complaint in since Dec 2009 and it went to FOS when RBS tuned it down

FOS got RBS to agree settlement 2 weeks ago, but FOS have said as standard ALL banks are now allowed up to 8 weeks from the date of agreeing to settle to calculate the amount and pay (and thats only a guideline!)

Keep us posted, I'll post on here if mine pays up - I rang yesterday but they were unable to tell me how much yet

    Really pleased for you!
how long did it take to sort things out, I have had my claim in for 12 weeks and as of yet still waiting for any sort of reponce to the complaint, all i get are letters palming me off for a while.
I spoke to an (in)operative today and cancelled my PPI.

I have drafted an email to the CEO and just plucking up the courage to press send, it shouldn't be this way!
