Hi,
I didn't post about my claim earlier but i thought i would share the news now.
8 weeks ago i decided to try and reclaim my PPI payments back due to feeling I had been sold PPI when i didn't need it, due to having salary cover through my mortgage. I did mention this at the time of the application but was told that as the loan was for £25k it would be favourable if i took out the PPI to make sure the amount was agreed.
This morning i was sent a refund for just over £12k
Thought i would let you know.
Thanks for your help

Hi all, I'm a newbie here just wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributes it is a very informative place !
First of all, a massive well done to all of those who have been successful in their claims - I can't help feeling a little bit envious :-)
I have got 3 claims on the go currently, status as follows :-
Citifinancial - a complete bunch of shysters. Claim's been in since October 2010 and still no final response from them. They ignore emails, don't reply to letters and when you phone they put you on hold for ages then mysteriously you get cut off. Think I'm going to have to go via the FOS route on this one as they simply won't communicate with me. Claim is worth £14k.
HSBC - claim went in October 2010. Although they have sent letters they have been generic ones asking for more time etc, although their last one did say they'd have the matter dealt with by the end of August (but I'll believe it when I see it !). Claim is worth £4k.
MBNA - only submitted claim to them in March 2011, but they seem to be completely disorganised. It just depends on who you talk to on any given day. At least they appear to be settling claims though so that's hopeful. Claim is worth £7k.
Fingers crossed, and keep up the good work everyone !
Hi and welcome
wishing you luck on your reclaims, and have you also tried emailing the CEO's of each business as well?
It maybe worthwhile you doing so, especially if they are not communicating with you at all.
Good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Lies, lies and damned lies....
Email on 7th June saying I would get a response in 10 working days..
Gave them 28days (see I can be patient :rotfl:) then emailed again..
This time email said response by 15th July...
Lies all lies ... Postie just been... nothing from Nastywest ...
Just fired off another email stating I want response via email by close of business 17:00 hrs today!!!! Also not to insult my intelligence by saying "it's in the post"... told them to scan it and add as attachment to email...
Oh and if I didn't mention it before Nastywest tell lies!!!!

computerbuddy wrote: »So, Ian O'doherty has just emailed me back in regard to the total refund for my hubby's credit card.
They sent me a couple of letters saying need more time to investigate and should have a reply by 19th July but couldn't wait so emailed him yesterday, he said the complaint would be upheld then i emailed him back yesterday to see how much the refund was for, he has just sent me another email to say
Total refund £702.13
PPI Premiums £524.39
Associated Interest £177.44
The total refund will come off the balance of the card. bringing it down to £1975. Happy Day's!

So, 3 emails this week to Egg's CEO....no response at all! The forth is about to go out today. Any suggestions on the wording I could use?? My previous emails were to the effect of 'here's my email in case it has been over looked in error' blah blah....
I have had no response from Egg regarding these,i would have thought an aknowledgement at the very least would have been sent.
I would expect a company to treat their customers in a fair and appropriate manner, i feel this is not the case.
If i do not hear from you within the next 7 days i will have no option but to let the FOS deal with this.
Does this help?.0 -
