thanks for your quick response di, i should have said in my post that the fscs sent me a claims form a week ago & i filled it in and posted it back, does that mean i have a case with them or are they just sending the claims forms out to all customers :)

hi, could i please ask how long it took them to send you out a claim form? i put in an initial enquiry on their website on 27th june and was told they were now dealing with backlogs from enquiries at the beginning of june so there may be a wait for mine to be assessed. i havent received anything from them yet. i heard from a different member on here that it took about a week for them to send a claim form for him after initial enquiry - i guess this was before the backlog!

    thanks.

    Morning everyone,

Firstly I must apologise if this appears on the forum as a response to the last poster; it's been so long since I did anything except reply to other posts that the brain's a bit fuzzy and after the morning we've just had I guess I'm looking for anyone who may have had similar experiences. We just rang GE to enquire what the outstanding balance was (in the hope that that the FOS might have sorted things out-slim chance I know, but we gotta stay positive). As this hadn't happened my sis proceeded in asking why GE were still asking her to keep up repayments at the same level as when she was paying PPI, and considering the limitations her disabilities placed on her income, could she come to an arrangement where she her monthly repayments were at the same level they'd be if she hadn't been paying for PPI. This whole situation is really draining her of both her financial resources as well as her well-being, and I could tell that she was struggling to keep her voice from cracking as the account manager responded negatively to everything she was proposing, and then to top it all, this so-called manager not only had the audacity to say that she had no record of my sis paying for PPI over the last four years (despite referring the same statements we had in front of us which clearly stayed that an outstanding insurance of premium was removed from the outstanding balance in April 2011) but then to literally say "It was your own fault that you were paying for a policy which was useless to you". I've said it before, how on earth can these people get away with being so unpleasant? I'm almost inclined to agree when my sister said that it's not worth carrying on with this, and the sight of seeing her in tears, completely drained of her usual outgoing positivity is just too much to bear. I really haven't got a clue what to do anymore. :(

    Hi

Its been a horrific time for you hasn't it?

Don't know if it will be of any help, but the way your sister have been treated is beyond a joke, but perhaps a letter or email or even a phone call to the FSA about this matter may help, they may even contact the business on your sister's behalf.

Have you a good local MP as well, that may be able to help? x

I just found the whole denial of the PPI a little too hard to swallow. I'm usually fairly resilient but GE Money are severely testing my resolve at the mo. I will check the website out. Thanks di. Hope you're having a better Saturday than we are! :)

Try to keep positive with this, i know it is hard but it will not get you or your sis any further forward by thinking about this, when this is all sorted (and it will be!!) you will wonder why you allowed your selves to get so het up about this.
I am not demeening what is happening to you both, but i feel your healths are more important than any "financial institution" and you need to step back and take a deep breath and put this in perspective before one or both of you are taken really ill with the stress of this, everyone on here is on your side 100% so if you want a rant to get it off your chest :eek: then come on here and do just that :D:D:D
Please dont let this take over to the detriment of both of your sanity :(:(:(:( at the end of the day, you have to remember that you are dealing with "ruthless people" and no amount of talking or letter writing will make them bend,or move any faster.

I am with you all the way with this and i would hate to see this taking over your lives,be strong, take a deep breath and let this come to fruition at the pace that it will, give your sis our best from this site :A and keep your pecker up :D xxxxxxxxxx

With reference to phoning and asking about reducing the payment before your win, then do not do this, this will cause arrears on the account and extra interest, this will take up a % of the win,so please do not do this.

I hope it is not too long before you post with a win :j:j:j
And do as Di says and email your mp and tell him about this situation and how your sis was spoken too on the phone by the
    "jumped up person".
    xxxx.

your story is appalling. Do you have a local paper, if so, they might be interested in running your story, I work for the local paper in my town and human interest stories such as yours is of interest to people. Maybe there is a consumer page in it which could feature it?
GE would hate the bad publicity and I bet they wouldn't be so umsympathetic then especially if they were asked to comment.
Or maybe what about ringing watchdog to see if they'd be interested?
Don't let it drop, especially when you've came so far.
