Northern Rock (NRAM) sold me an my partner a loan in 2007 for £10000, insisting we couldn't have the loan unless we took out PPI.

After the court ruling and reading the information on here I decided to give reclaiming the PPI a go, as I was certain they had miss-sold it to us.

Not only had they insisted we had the PPI, they tried to say it was important we had it if my partner received a back injury at work (on reading the policy I realised that you couldn't even claim for a back injury as it was one of the claim limitations) and they didn't tell us that even though it was a joint loan the PPI only covered him.

I followed Martin and the Team's instructions and sent in my complaint form on 13 May 2011. I received confirmation yesterday (4 July 2011) that that NRAM are upholding our complaint and will be refunded my premiums and interest amounting to £2338.05 :j - I didn't even need to contact the Ombudsman:T

More importantly we can now afford to finish the loan 12 months early!

I would urge anyone who thinks they may have been miss-sold PPI to do this, it's an easy process if you do it the Money Saving Expert way :rotfl:

Thats brilliant.Well done and to be in a position to pay off the loan early is even better. Good for you:T:T

can anyone tell me about claiming back from lloyds tsb mortgages i have paid ppi since 2002 on my mortgage was unaware i had ppi until i rang the bank. i am self employed which they say the policy covers, i have a critical ilness and life cover in excess of 100K in place. my hours of work fluctuate from 12 to 22 each week i have a deputy agent to collect my book in case of sickness which has been in place for over 20 years there is no chance of being made redundant so basically ppi is no good to me and never has been. i have also had loans with lloyds tsb and M&S in 2004 and 2007 which also has had ppi added silly me had not even noticed, registered complaint to lloyds via telephone standard letter to wait for 16 weeks, M&S sending template letter off today . can anyone tell me what the chances off success are with these 2 companies many thanks :money:

Congratulations!!! I too had the same luck with Northern Rock and got a payout of just over £2,000! Looks like they have seen the error of their ways :)

    Enjoy the money :T
