help!!. ihad a loan with prestige finance with 2300 ppi.i wrote to them and they sent me a big letter saying that they were not paying caus i signed all relevant material.the loan was for 22.000 i had arrears at times.i paid in full in 2006 i had the loan from 2005.
do i have no chance of getting the money back?
I believe so.
I have had them upheld by both the lander and FOS where I had signed agreements agreeing to PPI - because I was told I HAD to take out the PPI to get the loan.
I am sure this is the case for many others on here.
Start again as Di said.
If they say no - take it to FOS.

Having just read the responses to KLMCM80's post, could the fact that my sis is slightly in arrears be holding it up? That's another gripe I have with GE; they told my sis that once the remaining PPI was removed from the outstanding loan, it would wipe out the arrears and set her straight. Yet once the PPI was taken off, the gits took the figure off the overall balance, so the arrears still stand and since she can only pay an extra £39 a month on top of the £261 she was paying when the PPI was included. That's why I'm wondering if she should write a proposal to pay the £216 each month she would pay if the PPI hadn't been added, with the other £84 be used to clear the arrears. The claims company assured her that any money she received would be minus her arrears which would be paid off before any money was sent to her. But as we are quickly learning, there are very few people you can genuinely trust, and not many appear to know the value of keeping their word.0

In response to KUFFs1978 post above: Hi, I really feel for you having to deal with GE. I had the misfortune to have a mortgage with them 5 years ago and it does not surprise me that they put the money onto the total amount outstanding, probably because they can still put charges on the account for being in arrears, that's the sort of company they are. GE Money nearly took my house of me for being £800.00 in arrears back in 2006!!! I sold my house, paid off all my cards that were owned by them and will never have anything that is underwritten by GE Money again. A warning to you all GE Money are legalised money lenders who don't care about circumstances of their customers their call centre staff are badly trained robots who are not allowed to diviate from the script they've been trained to repeat over and over again. I wish you luck with them.:mad:0

Just adding a comment about banks sending a breakdown of what they have awarded you. I had two claims for refund of ppi with Lloyds bank. They sent me an acceptance form to return saying they had upheld my claim and I would be refunded all ppi payments and 8% interest. I waited for a while and didn,t hear any more. It was'nt until I was checking online one day that I saw the money had been refunded but I never got any other letter to tell me this or how it was worked out. I'm not complaining though, at least I got it. Just waiting now for claim for ppi refund on two credit cards that I was pressured into (again with Lloyds.) Have had the standard extra time letter which will take me to the end of August, Just waiting now. Congrats to everyone who has had success and good luck to all those waiting.0

santander not so good well some thing and nothing really i have been waiting for a phone call from the woman dealing with my complaint for about 4 weeks and heard nothing so decided to chase them up regards my case as as it stands at the momment they gave me 4 weeks to come up with proof that i was in full time education when taking out the store card and i didnt have a partner so couldnt benifit from the bread winner policy, well the four week dead line is up and i havent had my sar request come back yet from hm revenue and customs,i did send them all of my college certifcates to show i was a student during the dates of taking out the card and asked the lady if she had received them she said oh yes (this was back on the 14th of june) i can have a look at them today for you!!! well what on earth has she been doing in the mean time??? i asked her if my case had been closed and she said it hasnt and all i need to do is send her my proof of not paying national insurance back in 1996 to 1998 and she willo be able to deal with it in a couple of days or so she said!!!
i have sent off my hfc acceptence form so should have it refunded into my back soon and have also sent egg credit card my original credit card agreement as evidence that i was paying ppi from the start of the credit card in the hope they will refund me back to 2003 instead of 2006

Northern Rock (NRAM) sold me an my partner a loan in 2007 for £10000, insisting we couldn't have the loan unless we took out PPI.
After the court ruling and reading the information on here I decided to give reclaiming the PPI a go, as I was certain they had miss-sold it to us.
Not only had they insisted we had the PPI, they tried to say it was important we had it if my partner received a back injury at work (on reading the policy I realised that you couldn't even claim for a back injury as it was one of the claim limitations) and they didn't tell us that even though it was a joint loan the PPI only covered him.
I followed Martin and the Team's instructions and sent in my complaint form on 13 May 2011. I received confirmation yesterday (4 July 2011) that that NRAM are upholding our complaint and will be refunded my premiums and interest amounting to £2338.05 :j - I didn't even need to contact the Ombudsman:T
More importantly we can now afford to finish the loan 12 months early!
I would urge anyone who thinks they may have been miss-sold PPI to do this, it's an easy process if you do it the Money Saving Expert way :rotfl:0 -

RESULT!
N Rock do seem to have their act together at the moment, seems they are paying out within 3-4 week in most cases?
Well done!
-
Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!
