if its of any help my mbna credit card ppi refund was placed straight onto my exsisting balance didnt pay it off but it helped i didnt have to fill out an acceptence form they just told me that that is what they were going to do

same with my egg credit card they just put the ppi refund straight on to my outstanding balance didnt have to sign an acceptence form with them either

hfc who i had a large loan with but finished paying it in 2009 have sent me an acceptence form that ive had to fill out and send back (on the form it says it will be paid straight into my current account) i had to fill out my account details on the form (dont know how long this transfer will take however) but im hoping it wont take to long if its a instant transfer specialy as its goin into my hsbc account

my egg loan i havent had a refund yet but i have been told on the phone i will be receiving a cheque through the post this loan i have also paid off in 2010

and santander/burtons menswear store card i have no idea how they will pay this one as i havent had an offer yet but i no longer own the store card or have an outstanding balance with them

just thought it might help some people with how they might get their refund back from these companies

some more updates for you both from egg loan and santander regards burtons menswear account

phoned egg this morning as it will be 8 weeks tomorrow and i havent heard anything since the four week letter spoke to a very nice woman who informed me that a 8 week notice letter had been sent out today to say they needed more time however (not sure if she was supposed to tell me) but she said there was a note on her system that a cheque had been issued :j but it would take 7 to 10 working days to get all the right people to give it the go ahead and authorise it before they could send it out so thats some good news she said i could take it to the fos but she said to wait a bit longer if i could which was nice of her

santander not so good well some thing and nothing really i have been waiting for a phone call from the woman dealing with my complaint for about 4 weeks and heard nothing so decided to chase them up regards my case as as it stands at the momment they gave me 4 weeks to come up with proof that i was in full time education when taking out the store card and i didnt have a partner so couldnt benifit from the bread winner policy, well the four week dead line is up and i havent had my sar request come back yet from hm revenue and customs,i did send them all of my college certifcates to show i was a student during the dates of taking out the card and asked the lady if she had received them she said oh yes (this was back on the 14th of june) i can have a look at them today for you!!! well what on earth has she been doing in the mean time??? i asked her if my case had been closed and she said it hasnt and all i need to do is send her my proof of not paying national insurance back in 1996 to 1998 and she willo be able to deal with it in a couple of days or so she said!!!

i have sent off my hfc acceptence form so should have it refunded into my back soon and have also sent egg credit card my original credit card agreement as evidence that i was paying ppi from the start of the credit card in the hope they will refund me back to 2003 instead of 2006

    Hiya
And the best of luck, hope you hear soon of positive news.;)

If you have the paperwork, then I can't see why not, they should therefore refund going from the date you taken it out.

    Fingers crossed.:)x

Hi, has anyone had any dealings with either of these two banks. I have received a letter from both saying the 31st August deadline. I put my claim in last August and seems to be dragging. Just wondering if anyone has had any success stories with them lately. Thanks.

    Hello there

I'm sure you will hear soon, as the banks or the main of them have been given extra time by the FSA due to the backlogs, although you may still possibly hear before the timescale they've given, good luck.;)

    Hi
I put my claim in with MINT (RBS) back in March. My claim has been upheld. I heard from them on Friday advising a cheque would be posted within 28 days. Happy days! Hopefully you'll hear something soon as I also received a letter telling me I would hear back before end of Aug. I didnt expected to hear from them so soon. Fingers crossed for you! :D

    Well done :T & Congratulations!

I have an ongoing PPI claim with Barclays.

I have a current loan which does not have PPI on it. Are Barclays going to make me pay any amount refunded against this loan?

I would really rather not have to do this, and would prefer the cash paid into my current account. I have seen some old threads about them trying to do this, but I hope this might have changed.

    Advice appreciated!

    Hi

Banks differ from one to the other, but as long as there are no arrears/missed payments on the current loan, then you have the right to have your refund paid directly to you.
I had a few successes with the same bank and they treated them all separately, hope that helps.

    Good luck.

    Ditto :D:D

Thanks everyone. Sorry I wasn't clear in the first place.

Had two previous loans with PPI which we're paid off and replaced with the current loan which has never had PPI on it.

Probably being a drama queen thinking that they would then deduct my refund off the current loan, thus changing the repayment terms etc. I think it should come back into my current account!

    Hi everyone,

Firstly I must say how nice it is to not only read about so many successes in reclaiming the dreaded PPI, but also how many kind and helpful folks there appears to be on this forum. I encouraged my sister to check out the range of messages exchanged on here so hopefully she feels a little more confident.
However, with regards to keeping in touch and hopefully getting a resolution to the drama, now that the matter is in the hands of the FOS, should we leave it to them to deal with it, or would it help if we were to push the insurer a little harder ourselves? Having spoken to the resolutions department at GE this afternoon, it is very clear that they don't want to help. I do wonder if these people would behave in such a way if speaking to a customer face-to-face as the guy was clearly more interested in doing other things whilst my poor sister tried to get some answers from him. I'd like to be able to pass on the right advice to her, whether that to become a pain in the backside of the insurer (Fintel Ltd) or to leave it in the lap of the Gods and hope the FOS sort it out.

Hello there, and your most welcome:);)

I am aware once your complaint is with the FOS, the businesses will not deal with us customers directly, as the FOS makes them aware that they are dealing with your complaint, however if there is success at the end of this and upheld, if your waiting too long for the refund (as the FOS normally says to contact them back to let them know if you have not heard for a length of time), there is no harm in contacting the banks/business then.

Everything crossed, please keep us posted, cheers. :)
