    Hello

Just to back up the earlier comments about Debenhams/Santander/ GE Money I spoke with again the wonderful people at the FOS and they have progressed my claim against Santander for my Debenhams gold card through the underwriter which was Financial Insurance Co Ltd. They have, on my behalf, sent a letter to them asking for my claim to be sorted. I should receive a letter from the FOS explaining what has happened and what the next step is. Very impressed with the FOS. Does anyone know how long the underwriter has to make an offer?

Could somebody give me some help trying to understand how the banks work out 8% I just can't seem to calculate it!!! Egg have refunded me £908.68 for premiums paid which I have checked & is correct; refund of interest at card rate £65.68 (apparently they stopped all interest at a certain time on all premium payments, which is why this is such a small amount) the card rate was 15.9% variable. Has anybody else had a reduced interest at card rate figure with Egg?????? Just curious!!! And the 8%=£278.80. how did they work this out??? No clue at all, just want to work out other % for other accounts, & check that this is correct, thankyou in advance to anybody thT can help me! Sorry for long message!!

    Hello there

Well at this time banks are now given extra time to deal with complaints, so if your bank is one of them involved (think the main of them are now though) you should be receiving a letter anytime to let you know.
The FSA have given permission due to the backlog.

However, if its 8 weeks and you've heard nothing at all, I would give them a call and ask them for an update.
Despite the extra time they are given you may still hear something before the times given, good luck.;)

    Hiya

I understand it works different from a loan to a credit card which confuses me, but otherwise while waiting for the answer on this one, check on how the FOS calculated all ppi refunds minus the further distress compo if the case have not been resolved through the FOS though.;)

    Hiya

I did read about a week or 2 ago that someone was successful going to the underwriter direction, but cannot recall on how long it taken.

Mine is rather a complexed case and have been with the FOS since 2009, but not saying yours will take this long, mine is because there are so many parties involved and its being passed back and forth then from one to the other.

I understand going from my own experience they will keep in touch every 2-3 months, no harm in asking them for updates now and again though.

    Good luck on yours.;)

I downloaded the PPI complaint form and to date have complained to
Santander (D Perkins store card see my previous posts)
Marks and Spencer (trawling through the pages here and I cannot find anyone mentioning MnS or their exerience), this is for a loan I also had PPI on a store card but am yet to complain.
Alliance and Leicester (no response despite being sent over 3 wks ago)
Barclaycard (recieved letter saying they are investigating~
RBS (same as A and L)
    MBNA as yet no reply
What is a reasonable time scale to expect a reply from these companies, anyone have any idea??
