although i will add that ive had my credit card for several years i think i opend the account back in about 2003 or 2004 and this makes a difference to what you get back in interest the longer you have had the credit card and the ppi insurance the more you would get back in interest i presume as they calculate the interest from the date you first took the card to the current date i think

I had my card between Oct 2003 to Sept 2010 and the PPI appears to have been added from Day 1 so I'm hoping your theory is correct!!

I'm a bit confused (and perhaps a bit hopeful at the same time) as I have a claim in with M&S for mis-sold credit card PPI which when I added them all up from the statements they sent me amounted to around £1300. I assumed that if it was upheld then I would just get that back, so if £293 can turn into £1145, then would I be looking for more than that if it was upheld?

Well done on your pay-out by the way!

    Regards

  • Hi

Just looking for some advice. I've had three loans with Welcome Finance totalling £8500. Two were pre 2005 and I have completed and returned the questionnaire to welcome. The other post 2005 I have written to the Fscs as directed by welcome to ask for an application form to reclaim that PPI.

Does anyone know my chances of getting PPI back and how much could I expect? The loans have all been paid off completely. How long are Welcome and the FSCS taking to process claims?

Any advice would be great. Thanks

    Hi there

Wishing you luck on your reclaims.
Mine was successful (another company in default) with the FSCS over a year ago.
Cannot recall on the figures now but its not far off what you have paid and you will of course receive the interest to date as well.
Its about 90% of it I believe, the interest will make it up.
    http://www.fscs.org.uk/what-we-cover/questions-and-answers/qas-for-welcome-financial-hn0qripj/#Why_is_there_a_90_limit_to_the_compensation_available_from_the_FSCS_

Think there may be some info of this on the FSCS site, and also check on the companies in default thread on here as well, its rather long but have been much success, this if I remember will explain more or less what you should receive as such.

    Hope this helps.
    Good luck.

Hiya maybe someone who have dealt with both these will confirm, but even though M&S set your account up for you, the lender will supply on request.
