some good news this morning from mbna regards my abbey credit card they have upheld in my favour and agree i was miss sold the ppi insurance policy and they are refunding my money :)

    break down as follows

total amount of ppi charged since sale of card £292.82

total amount of interest associated with ppi premiums £852.82

    8% amount £0.00 :(

    total = £1145.64 :):):)

no 8% interest would it be worth taking this to the ombudsman or would it be such a small amount that it just wouldnt be worth it and if going to the ombudsman and they have agreed that it was miss sold would they award the 8%

they are putting it towards my balance owed which is a good thing because it will send my monthly crippling payments down and i wont waste it on buying something lol

a huge thank you to di and amersall and everyone else who has helped and offered help to me your all a fantastic bunch :)

i originaly put my complaint in around the 18th of may 2011

just gotta hope for a good result from the other 4 now :)

and to everyone else it can be done so sit tight and get back whats yours!!!

    Hi there

So sorry to hear this and with the FOS also being over-run with complaints as well it will possibly take some time.
However, since the announcement of Barclays today, this should take a work load from the FOS as well, even though they will still be left with a huge amount, but hopefully you will hear something sooner rather than later, fingers crossed.

Oh, also just to mention, if your in any personal/hardship, it may be worth mentioning this to the FOS, and request for fast tracking, they will consider this with your reasons if this is the case.

    Finger crossed.;)

HI Di - does this include having two autistic children, which make life so difficult i probably would'nt have had a chance to look at whatever they claim they sent us in 2007 to make up for not sending us the full Ts & Cs in 2005 when we took it out?

Cause, personally, the kids do make it hard enough to deal with everything, since i've had to fight 2.5 years for one statement SEN and am just starting the battle for the other statement of SEN, along with everything else... i'd call that a hardship...

i sent the original complaint off on roughly the 18th of may 2011 heard from them within 5 days to acknowledge my complaint then 4 weeks after i got a letter saying sorry it was taking so long and they would write again soon then the following week i got the offer letter they didnt say how they worked it out but i was only paying the ppi for about 2 years before i canceled it after reading on here about the fact that you didnt need it, currently my balance stands at about £5500 which will now be reduced by the refund of £1145 this was the original payment of ppi plus interest from when i took the card out to current date but they wouldnt give me the 8% interest because apparently you have to have cleared the full amount owed between taking it out and todays date hope this helps

Would a copy of their credit reporthelp /detail the fact that they had a loan and or account no's?
The credit report may help here, dont know if the account numbers will be there, but give it a try, you have nothing to lose.

Right. I shall write a letter off to support my claim, explaining the personal hell we live with - and how it leaves us too frazzled to deal with much of anything!

    thank you, Di. xx
