I WROTE THE STANDARD LETTER GOT 1 LETTER BACK SAYING THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT! RECIEVED ANOTHER LETTER APPOLOGISING FOR THE DELAY, THEN RECIEVED ANOTHER LETTER WITH THE OFFER OF £309 WICH I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH! SO SENT 1 LETTER AND WAITED 2-3 WEEKS! I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE CHEQUE (4 DAYS AFTER SENDING RECIEPT OF AGREED OFFER!

hi we are in the same position my hubby is covered for 12 months at work so the ppi is pretty useless and i found out that im only covered for death so thats what im gotng for

:money: Well chuffed! - managed to reclaim £1,200 PPI from an old HSBC graduate loan that had been paid off in 2006.

Hi all

Has anyone here had success with HSBC? I've just sent a letter to reclaim PPI from a loan I took out in 2003. I believe I was mis-sold as I was on a fixed-term contract at the time and I was led to believe I wouldn't get the loan if I didn't take out the PPI.

I know it probably depends on the case, but if anyone could give any indication on how long it took to get a resopnse, what the original reply was and whether they had to go to the FOCI would be most grateful.

Many thanks to Martin and his Team,
Following Martin's advice I lodged a dispute about PPI first with Natwest, we exchanged letters for many months, then the corrispondance from Natwest dried up, I sent one last letter demanding a refund or I lodge a case with the Financial Ombudsman Service. This I did not get a reply to, so I lodged a case with the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Much to my suprise today I recieved an offer to settle 'As a Gesture of Goodwill' from Natwest.
This offer totals £9376.48, needles to say I have just accepted the offer from Natwest and will drop the case with the FSA.

Hi to all MSEr's,

We took out an unsecured loan for £16500 and secured loan for £8500 with Halifax in 2003. With the paperworks that we've signed comes the PPI. We need the money urgently that time that we didn't bother to ask some questions.

A year later we decided to remortgage our house as our outgoings is just too high (mortgage, loans x2, and household bills). Since 2004 after learning to tackle debt we've never took out any loans and always pay our credit cards in full every month (also learned how to stooze;) ).

I've already heard PPI reclaiming since a few months ago from Martin's emails but just didn't have round to do it. Finally 2 months ago I've sent our first and only letter of PPI reclaim to Halifax and got a reply that we need to wait 2 months for the outcome of our complaint. Fast forward 09/10/08 we have received a letter from Halifax that we will get refund of our PPI.:j :j :j Obviously we are very delighted of such very good news at the back of the problems we have encountered with ICESAVE and KE.

The letter also states that we would get the payment within the next month and that they will contact us again for the exact details of the amount we will get paid. We are not carried away just yet as we don't know the exact figures and it's not in our hands yet. So I'll keep posted with the outcome.

Is it possible to know how much are we getting?

Have just had a letter from FOS today saying that they have upheld my complaint and Barclays have agreed to settle my complaint. I don't know the amount yet but somewhere over £3000.

In case anyone else is patiently waiting, my timescale went like this:
Dec 07 - First complaint letter to bank
Jan 08 - Negative reply from Barclays, Leicester Customer Relations
Feb 08 - Second letter to bank
Feb 08 - Final NIL response form Head Office
Mar 08 - Complaint lodged with FOS
Jul 08 - Complaint allocated to adjudicator
Oct 08 - Happy ending :rotfl:

Will let you know when they sort it and payout, it will be to me as I repaid the loan early in May.

Good afternoon all.

Just had an offer from HSBC for £2339.70 this will of course be accepted.

However I do have a question regarding this, it says I will have to arrange to see someone at my local branch to restructure the loan before payment will be made.

Has anyone else had to do this? and should send off the acceptance before I have visited my branch? Advice on this would be appreciated.
