  • Hello all I just wanted to get a feel for some timescales and success rate of dealing with HSBC.

As of today 01/10/08 I'm entering week 7 of 8 in my quest for getting PPI reclaimed.

If you've had a success with HSBC or are still going through the motions I'd love to know how long it took/how long you've been in the process of reclaiming.

Look forward to hearing from you.

My 1st letter was sent in November last year
    REJECTED
Sent 2nd letter December last year
    REJECTED
Went to the FO January this year.

Still awaiting to be assigned an adjudicator !

Very frustrating but if it works. It'll be worth it !

    Good Luck
  • Thanks for that Wezzy.

I claimed bank charges back from them last June with no need to go to the FSO, so here's hoping.

I've been dealing peronally with the complaints team manager on this as they were very poor in responding to my original letter.

    Thanks again
  • hopefully this will bring hope to the previous posts about hsbc.

    Hi

Had another success with HSBC for a loan I took out in December 2003, did not have any details & had to write to them for a copy of my policy, they have upheld my complaint & have agreed to pay back £5,891.79 and I didn't need to go to the FO this time. With the £7,200 they paid me back earlier this year for another loan the total is over £13,000 what a success!!!

Thanks Martin for all the advise on this site.

Great news here and gives incentives to all reclaiming on older loans too.:j
  • Some success at last!
Sent letter to Creations about my Adams store card to be told it wasn't them who sold the insurance so I emailled the company direct who did. Several emails later including a letter from my GP and they said no - so I asked if this was their final response. They said they would only give a final response if FOS asked for one,so I asked FO to send a letter on my behalf.
Just received a letter - not from FO - offering full amount of £667.90!
No interest but I'm happy since it only took a couple of months and I thought I was in for a long fight. :j

Just awaiting cheque now so fingers crossed it won't be too long so I can get my car fixed!
  • Just got a letter from Barclays after eleven weeks they have put me back into the position I would have been had I not had PPI two years ago.
So took all the PPI off my loan plus the intrest I had paid plus they debited my account with £140 being the 8% statutory intrest I claimed.
Reason given by them QUOTE an element of doubt that I would not fully benefit from the policy .
BIG THANKS TO THE SITE :T
