CONGRATS ELLIEPETE :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:0

Just a quick update on our claim. When I last posted a few weeks ago the FOS had found in our favour against Freedom Finance ie;Wilmslow Financial Services and we were waiting on our settlement offer. We have received this at long last and they have offered us just under £24,000 which we have accepted and we should have a cheque within the next week. It's been a long slog of almost two years from beginning to end but all the fantastic advice and pointers which we have received on this site has been wonderful. So to anyone who is feeling despondant or not sure whether to purue a claim - don't give up!!:j- it'll be worth it.
WOW! That is awesome news. :beer::j:j:money:0 -

WELL DONE Elliepete!!!! :T:T
Like you say don't give up and don't let them grind you down neither.
Victory is yours!!! :rotfl::T0 -
Hi there and congratulations! :T
I have complaints going at the minute with Halifax, one for a loan PPI and the other for credit card PPI. They have put my complaints on hold pending the outcome of the Judicial Review. So I will sit it out a little longer. Did you have to take yours to the FOS?
Also did you have the account numbers for these loans or did you request them from Halifax? I had another loan with Halifax that I am going to try claiming PPI on. But I took the loan out in 2002 and can't find any paperwork with the account number on. I have wrote to them to request this, but makes me wonder if they will try saying they no longer have any records on it!!
I had the same response regarding putting them on hold, but they addressed them (after a few phone calls) and sent me settlement letters.....I did have all the account numbers though (I'm sure they still have a record of yours somewhere).
I'd hang in there I think they may just be taking a while getting through all the backlog.
Best of luck :beer:0 -
I have been locked in a battle with Lloyds for the past 3 years over my PPI. I sent numerous letters to them (following Martin's templates) only to be knocked back each time. I finally resorted to the FSA who after 4 months have informed me that they have found in my favour;also recommending that Lloyds pay a further £200 compensation for the stress caused. Guess what ? Lloyds will not even respond to the FSA decision,even after 2 letters from them; so everything is once again put on hold until the Ombudsman adjudicates and makes his final decision. This will no doubt drage everything out a further few months. I fully expect this to go in my favour,but what right have Lloyds to not even acknowledge a decision made by the FSA. This is further evidence of their stalling techniques but I am going to stick with it. Can I request the Ombudsman,if finding in my favour to request extra compensation for their unacceptable behaviour and for the time I have taken in preparing my case. I have spent countless hours doing this.0

Hi there, lloyds are just delaying the inevitable. This makes me so angry, what right have they got to mis sell you insurance and then not pay out when told to?. it would not hurt to give fos a ring and ask for extra compensation, as fos upheld and lloyds (as all banks, ignore).0

Hi
You are not on your own. My own credit card claim with Lloyds has been unpheld by the F.O.S. and Lloyds have not had the decency to reply to the two letters sent to them.
FOS gave them until mid-Feb to reply to the second letter so now its in a queue for the Ombudsman. I just hope after waiting all this time that the Ombudsman agrees with their adjudicator.

I am a little bit confused to say the least. I have been battling with MBNA to get my PPC back since July 2010. I ticked the "NO PPC" box on the credit agreement and they added it anyway. After a few statements way back in 2000, I contacted them about this charge and was told that I had to have it. MBNA stalled my FOS questionnaire, and kept on sending further stalling letters (way over the 8 week period). They then sent me a letter in October, the "we're not doing anything due to the Judicial Review". I sent my paperwork to the FOS.
Last Friday, I emailed the top boss of MBNA stating that I have been treated very unfairly as my case is black and white, I said NO, MBNA ignored me. I also attached a copy of my credit agreement where the box has a big fat NO PPC ticked by me. I nearly spat my tea out at work on Monday when I received an email stating:
"Thank you for your email. Ian O’Doherty has asked me to acknowledge receipt of your complaint, and to confirm that we will provide you with a response within the next seven working days.
If there is any additional information you wish to provide, or you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me using the details below".
Could this mean that they may be looking into my case now that I have gone right to the top......or more stalling nonsense? I wonder? They owe me about £5,000.

Hi Anna
Well hopefully you will get a good outcome on this, personally you provided them with the copies of evidence, so realistically they would be very silly to not accept liability.
In my opinion its a good case.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thank you as always Di.
They have just sent me a further email about 5 minutes ago stating: "Rest assured we will provide you with a full reply to your concerns as a matter of urgency".
I really hope they don't let me down as MBNA are rather good at doing that.
