    Hi Everyone

I’ve submitted a claim for a PPI refunds on my NatWest card in October. I’ve just received a letter from RBS stating that my claim is on hold pending the outcome of legal case.

Shall I still refer my case to the Ombudsman? I’m just looking for some advice on how to move forward really

    Thanks in advance

    Hi and welcome

You do have a choice here, but there is no right or wrong on what you choose to do.
If you want to wait for the outcome - you can do this of course, or give the FOS a ring and see what they suggest if you want to.

    Good luck with this.:)

Thanks DI :) I've spoken to the ombudsman, they're sending me the paper work to fill in, I just need to until the 8 week deadline

I've also called the RBS PPI claim centre who said they’re waiting outcome of the court case on the 25th Jan, until then my case is on hold.

I sent a letter to them at the beginning of October along with the questionaire the FOS provides, got a letter back saying they would be in touch within 8 weeks, 4 weeks later a letter back saying they offer us back the PPI, interest, plus an additional 8%!! I took a loan out with hsbc in 2006 for £10,000 over 5 yrs, I was told I could only have the loan if I took the ppi.
I emailed the bank in September I received a letter to say they were investigating my case, I then emailed them again after 8 wks to report I hadn't received a full reply and I knew I was able to now go to the FOS. I have since received another letter informing me I will now receive a full response by the 13 December
Does anybody know what the success rate is like with HSBC?? and if I am sucessful how long do you usually have to wait until you receive any money?

Hi there, some have won with hsbc, give them until the 13 dec, as i am sure you will hear something. I am sure others who have won and been paid out will post to give you an idea of how long it is to get money back. Good luck with this and keep us posted x.
