Hi all congrats to all the sucesses people have had recently.
Just to update my claim for PPI on an internet CC application is waiting for an ombudsman to review my case as the adjudicator ruled against my claim in favour of EGG.
Also I have put a claim in against HSBC for mis-selling PPI on a loan - this has been put on hold awaiting court case between British Bankers and FSA and FOS. Has anyone any idea when the case is scheduled for?0 -

I am jumping for joy!!!:j
Received an offer for £435.91 today for a loan with RBS in 2004. They haven't upheld my complaint but made the offer as agesture of goodwill!!
I am so chuffed with it. Am planning to get the lounge decoarated with the money.
Thanks to all on the site for you help, advice & encouraging me to carry through all my claims.:)
Best wishes to all, MM:rotfl:missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

A couple of years back I wrote to Northern Rock asking to cancel the PPI on a current loan as suggested by MSE. Northern Rock wrote back and told me I couldn't do it without taking out a new loan agreement which would have meant paying back more per month on a higher interest rate. Obviously, I declined and continued paying off the loan.
Last year I was lucky enough to pay off and close the loan. Then a couple of months back, after taking another look at the MSE web pages, I decided to complete the complaints form and send it to Northern Rock.
About 2 weeks ago I received a letter from them offering me just over £7,300!! :j
I'm still waiting for that money to hit my account (within 28 days) but a big thank you to MSE - if it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have bothered doing anything about it! I'm now using your website to get the best deal on an ISA to try and make the most of my new found and quite unexpected bank balance!!
Thanks again! :T

Hi there
You are aware that your able to make the complaint to the FOS if you want to?
This may be ongoing until early 2011, but what I would do is contact the FOS, have a word with them and see what they suggest.
Good luck and with the case waiting to be reviewed by the ombudsman.

I contacted Welcome Finance yesterday after I received one of their offer letters. I waited over half an hour and spoke to someone who cut me off!!! Twenty minutes later I spoke with another member of staff who stated they had recieved my signed acceptance on 28th October and they processed my payment on 5th november. She stated it could take 10 working days to hit my account but when I checked my bank balance today It was in :j:j
I know others where wondering about times so mine went in 11 working days after they received my acceptance even though they quoted 30 working days although all my accounts are long closed with them.
Thanks everyone for their help two weeks ago I thought this was some kind of hoax now I am well on the road to becomming debt free:rotfl:0 -

Hi there
They normally have 8 weeks, however there is no harm in asking them for an update, good luck, and please keep us posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I started my claim with F.P. on 11/10/10. Since then I have recieved two letters from F.P. one saying sorry to hear I wasn't happy with my PPI and they would investigate and get back to me by 10/11/10. A second letter turned up on the 11/11/10 saying they need to fully complete their investigation and will contact me by the 8/12/10.
What I want to know is this normal, or just a delaying tactic, plus is there anyway to speed up my claim.:(

Hi there
Wishing you luck on your reclaiming.
The normal timescale is that of 8 weeks, and with backlogs they do tend to ask for more time.
However, it may be worth waiting until then on the date they have given its up to you.
But the other procedure from here is you can make the complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) once the 8 weeks have passed, but please be aware this can also take some time.
Hope you hear of a good result out of this soon, fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
