Hi, after looking on the site i sent off two questionares to halifax to laim back my PPI on a loan & credit card. Today i received a letter from them that said this:

"My understanding of your complaint is that you are concerned about the way you sold your payment protection insurance on your halifax loan and credit card. If i have misunderstood this please let us know by contacting 0845 601 4034.

Please find enclosed a copy of our complaints leaflet.

your complaint will be dealt with as quickly as possible".

Sorry if i am being dumb but is this the correct procedure & what should i do now?? Thanks for any help.:(

    Hi all,

Just to let you know that after FOS upheld my parents complaint against Norton Finance they finally recieved their money back: £11,200 :)

I've lost track of when they made the initial complaint to Norton but think it was 2008 so it's been a bit of long wait to get to this stage! Even after the ombudsman's final decision we still had to chase Norton on a daily basis, who kept telling us the delay was with their insurance company.

We are still currently awaiting a bit more money in terms of lost interest (FOS said interest should be paid up until when compensation is paid but due to the 3 month delay we are still owed that 3 months interest).

Thanks to everyone who offered advice and encouraged us to pursue the full amount rather than accept the initial offers from Norton (approx £2000 from memory). The money has enabled my parents to clear the majority of their debts thanks to a few f&f settlements that we negotiated, meaning that they will be able to start the new year without the burden of debt that they seem to have always had.
