I contacted RBS last year in March and was refused the PPI reclaim for self employed then to FOS and the Adjuticator upheld the claim in a letter dated 3rd September. On the 10th letter arrived to sign and fully accept the settlement (no figures) to be returned by the 17th September. Letter then received to go to the bank RBS or Nat West to prove identity. This was duly done on the 24th. Called Bristol PPI Concern team only to be told they have to work out the amount in Enfield (direct line) the figures are then sent to Bristol to issue the cheque !. Called Bristol last Friday to be told "Oh it could be weeks yet". E mail sent twice to the CEO no reply as of yet.

Another RBS saga of waiting aand hoping.

Good luck, hope you receive your refund very soon.

  • Hi

I reclaimed PPI on a credit card from Bank of Scotland. Yesterday I received a cheque for £1068 as a full refund!!!

After reading about reclaiming PPI on this site, I decided to give it a go and see how I would get on as I felt as if I had been pressured into taking out the cover, in Sept 06.

I used the templates from this site and sent it off to the provider in August. Within a couple of weeks I'd received an acknowledgement letter, and a couple of subsequent letters informing me that they were still dealing with my case. The last letter I received, last week stated that they felt I had been mis-sold the cover and would receive a full refund, which dropped through the door yesterday!

    So, Thanks MSE!!!

    Hi Susan

    CEO details

    Stephen.Hester@rbs.co.uk

    Good luck with this.;)

Thanks Di, I think the amount is quite substantial which is why they are probably being difficult and I have now had to go into a payment arrangement with them despite the fact I havent used the card for over 5 years, its the PPI that has caused the problems!:(

I get the impression that RBS are being really difficult despite the FSA report and recommendations, I am also having on going fights with Santander over 2 credit cards - they just play real dirty and make me so very mad.

    Just got refund of £3000!!!!

Took loan with Northern Rock in 2005. Was told PPI was compulsory in order to get the loan, didnt know until i read this site 2 months ago that it wasnt.

i followed your guide. All i did was fill out the questionnaire and send it to Northern Rock. Within 7 weeks they replied, upholding my complaint, refunding all ppi plus interest. RESULT!!! :j

Thank you soooo much, i only used this guide - no claims company, no ombudsman. Brilliant. :T

    Isabella

hi thats great news ,Iam just about to send my letter off to Northern rock and was just wondering which address you sent it to ,was it the Customer relations one :)

    Hi and welcome
Yes there have been much success via Barclays, even if you have to keep at them, or if not complain to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).

I would check for more details on the link below, Martin's guidelines of reclaiming, follow this if this applies to you.

Ask for any help if required, good luck.
