I am really pleased, am currently fighting them for PPI over a period of at least 14 years, can you tell me who the CEO is and I will write to them to help push it along.

    Thanks

    • What were you reclaiming: loan
    • Who was the provider: Egg
    • How much did you get back: £905
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: after 1st letter
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale
Took out a loan in 2006 and after 6 months realised i had PPI on the loan so i cancelled it as it was needed and i didn't even know it was applied to the loan. I wasn't aware i was able to reclaim until recently so sent off a letter. Whilst they said my claim had no merit they agreed to refund payments and interest as a 'gesture of good faith'! Now to tackle a few more cards....

  • After my success against Barclays claiming on my barclayloan, does anybody know if it would be possible to claim against Barclaycard for when I had a credit card with them between 2005 and 2009?? How would I know if PPI was added on there?? I only have the old barclaycard number though, no other details. Grateful for any help/advice.

    Hi there

    Yes you can.

You could contact them by requesting for some details on the account.
I was going to suggest that you write a simple letter, enclose £1 cheque or postal order, give the account number details, and request they supply by 12-14 days, but with it being a settled account they may not longer hold this, but the only other way really would be to request a Subject access request (SAR).

With a SAR there is a template letter for this below link, you enclose £10 cheque or postal order, they have 40 calendar days to comply.

Why don't you try ringing them, see if they could give the details or maybe a yes or no on the phone, with you already having the account number, that's a good start, and take it from there.

    Good luck.

  • Thanks again MSE!! does it matter that the balance of barclaycard was transferred to another credit card company in Feb 2010. I still had at least 3 years paying off the barclaycard? I'll try ring them later.

    Hiya

I don't think it makes any difference, the point is you were mis sold the product and you can still make a reclaim.;)

I contacted RBS in April last year requesting that they pay back PPI on two loans I had. Finally in July they said that they were not going to do this as the loans were too long ago (1997). I have all the origional paperwork so they have all the details. I contacted the FOS who called me in January this year to say that I had been assigned an adjudicaor. I contacted them again in May asking if there had been any progress with the case but have been told on a monthly basis that they are still corresponding with RBS and there has been no progress made. Do you think it is worth contacting the CEO or should I just leave it to the FOS? I could really do with this money and don't know why it is taking so long.
    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Hiya

A long haul this it seems doesn't it?

Yes I would contact the FOS/Adjudicator who have been dealing with this, and ask if you should contact the CEO, tell them you really need the refund for as soon as possible due to personal issues if this is the case. Hope they can chase this up for you.

    They don't rush do they?

Good luck, please let us know what they say, thanks. X
